PCOS has officially been renamed PMOS – and experts are calling it a huge step forward.

Previously known as polycystic o***y syndrome, the condition will now be called polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome to better reflect what it actually is: a complex hormonal and metabolic disorder, not just a reproductive condition linked to ovarian cysts.

The change aims to tackle years of misunderstanding around PCOS symptoms, diagnosis and treatment – with campaigners hoping it could lead to earlier diagnosis and better care for millions of women.

In the meantime, a quick reminder: shaving is the only temporary hair removal method that will NOT potentially stimulate increased growth. Please avoid tweezing, waxing, and threading.

Electrolysis is the only FDA-approved method of permanent hair removal for all hair colors, hair types, skin tones, and skin types.

I have so many clients that are resistant to dermaplaning their face once a month or dermaplaning before their electrolysis appointment, and yet they have no problem with plucking, tweezing and waxing their face and upper lip which ultimately creates new hair by stimulating blood flow to the area and distorts their follicles making electrolysis less effective on a first time pass.
