Being a full time working parent and maintaining fitness is HARD.... trying to do that during a pandemic when their emotional needs (and mine!) have skyrocketed and the work-load increased (due to my accounting profession and my spouseโs career), was almost impossible! ๐ค๐ฅด
2020 was a rough year as I tried to find a new work-life balance (including reducing my work hours so I could be the at-home teacher I was now required to be) and I really didnโt see any extra โmeโ time in this shift. And thatโs ok. We can fall down and try again when weโre ready. Iโm ready.
Turning 40 has solidified the biological changes Iโve been ignoring for a few years so with the intent to be better about my food choices because my body is aging, Iโm working on that one day at a time.
Iโve been tracking my workouts on Beyond the White Board for, gosh, 6+ years, and I LOVE that it shows me how many reps of various movements Iโve been tracking over that time.
So even if you feel discouraged or frustrated with where you currently are, today is a new day to try again. Donโt wait for a Monday or new month; start today. Your future self will thank you. ๐ฅฐ๐ช๐ผ๐ค๐ผ๐ค๐ผ

Turns out 6:30 pm feels just like 6:30 am... who knew?! ๐ค๐ค I hate working out in the evenings but I gotta work off some of that cookie cake from my kidโs birthday yesterday... ๐คฎ
So it's been a while since I posted as the struggle with work/life balance has been real since going back to work in 2018. 2020 was definitely not my best year, but we keep trying again and eventually we'll get back on the path we desire. ๐
2021 is going to be another challenging year, but I know we can get through this together! My goals are to be more meaningful with my workouts (instead of just squeezing them in) and focus on quality of work I'm doing. Also, COVID-15 # is real, guys! ๐
I've got 6 months to get this body beach-ready, so who's with me?! What are your goals for 2021?
