We are honored to learn that the Helios Education Foundation received Outstanding Award for Built Commercial Landscape Design from World Landscape Architecture.

Fluidity joined the team with Colwell Shelor to complete the central water feature, an oculus feature which connects the roof to the parking area via a cylindrical composition of stainless steel chains that guide the downward-flowing water into a pair of circular pools.

“The site and building work in partnership to blur the lines between landscape architecture and architecture, significantly reduce potable water and energy use, provide opportunities for enhanced educational rethinking and improved mental health and wellbeing.” - Colwell Shelor

Fountain Appreciation Friday ⛲️

Designed by prolific Australian Architect Robert Woodward, the fountain in the center of the court of the New South Wales Parliament building was built in 1983. Water Flows between the strands at the apex, stretching outward in all directions to fall from the tips of the bowed metal strands and rain gently into the pool. The reflection pool conveys the action more than anything else, with low waves flowing outward from the sculpture to the infinity-edged perimeter.

Great water features are anatomically organized into synergetic systems of water display, where each element interacts meaningfully with each other. All expressions are of significant quality, functioning together in harmony. It is from this synergetic complexity that water design becomes rich, efficient, and alive.

We build water features to express water’s availability to us and to celebrate the life it supports. The human spirit is a great and sensitive thing, and water expression ties directly into that realm of experience.

Summer is the high season for interactive water features!

Nancy Best in Dallas, TX . A sculptural, interactive, musical fountain activates the east end of Klyde Warren Park, in Dallas’s downtown Arts District.

Palm Springs Downtown Park in Palm Springs, CA. An urban oasis in the desert with shade and water, this inviting open space is freely composed of mists and small-scaled jets.

Myriad Botanical Garden in Oklahoma City, OK. Five water features are included in Myriad’s 14 acres of botanical gardens, tropical plants, and recreational activities. The children’s fountain offers a unique shade canopy, interactive jets, and mist.

Today we celebrate Karen Adhikari and her twenty years with Fluidity. We celebrate her steady and consummate professionalism, her talented leadership, and her humanism. Karen is not only a great designer, she is a great friend.

“Twenty! What absolutum privilegium it has been to be on this journey with Fluidity since 2005. I can only hope that Fluidity thrived and grew and had a blast from having me as much as I thrived and grew and had a blast from being a part of Fluidity.
With much, much gratitude to one and all for your selfless collaboration in the creation of joy for others through water design.” - Karen Adhikari

To acknowledge Karen’s contributions to our firm and to projects around the world, we rounded up a collection of Karen’s greatest hits over the last twenty years.
