The latest food buzz word 🐝 is . It’s everywhere - from McPlants & Impossible Nuggets to body wash and laundry detergent 🫧
Companies are taking advantage of the increased public interest with plant based products, and slapping the phrase on everything to sell to us 💸💸💸
As a vegan and plant based nutritionist, it’s very exciting that more people are open to plant based options! But I’m weary that consumers may assume that “plant based” means healthy.
Plant Based is derived from “whole food plant based”, meaning a diet rich in vegetables, fruits, grains, legumes, nuts and seeds 🥦🍎🍠🍚🥑🌰
Companies are using this as a replacement for “vegan”, which means devoid of animal products. Ultra processed “vegan” foods, like faux meats, cookies and fast food 🍔 are not truly plant based or healthy.
It’s definitely fun to enjoy these foods once in a while, I certainly do 😋 but we must hold strong onto the true definition of plant based…because this is much more than a diet trend - it’s a much needed multi-industry revolution that can save our planet, so many animals and our health 🌎🐷🐮🐟💚

Often includes slowed metabolism, confusion, irritability and general feelings of failure 😶
Ok I’m being sarcastic on that last part, but the point being is that diets aren’t built to last! Cutting calories or certain food groups only gets you so far.
If one of your goals is to be healthier, start thinking of realistic ways you can change your habits for the foreseeable future, not just a few days or weeks.
Speaking of diets, what’s the hardest one you’ve ever tried? For me, it was low-carb/keto 🙈

Working on my clients’ programs with this pretty latté ☕️ I’m reminded of how keeping up healthy habits can be tough this time of year.
Stress goes up, gym time goes down, the treats are plenty & the drinks are flowing 🥂
It’s easy to feel like things are out of your control & give up until New Years.
Remember it’s not all or nothing. You aren’t “falling off the wagon”. You are on a journey - there will be ups and downs.
So instead of stressing about the workouts you’re missing or the indulgences - how about you just be kind to yourself, enjoy & reflect on what you are grateful for.
You’ll pick up momentum again in no time. Until then, do what you can and keep going.

I love working from home in my leggings but sometimes you just gotta get ready & go out to work 👩🏻💻☕️
I do a lot of work behind the scenes as a Nutrition & Lifestyle Coach - I love working with my clients but I’m not always talking about it here because a lot of this work is personal.
Although many people have the best intention to be healthier, better versions of themselves, there’s just things that get in the way.
Whether it’s tangible (like work) or in our heads (like self doubt) - we all struggle with obstacles.
And those who are ready to overcome the obstacles, learn & really change their lives for the better… that’s where a coach, like myself, can be very helpful.
A coach guides you through on a path you couldn’t see before & moves you along when you don’t think you can go any further.
What I do is so much more than telling people “eat this, not that” because health, nutrition & lifestyle are not just about “WHAT” to do or eat - it’s “WHY” & “HOW”.
