Food. Fun. Recipes. Drinks. All the things that make life exciting and delicious. Being bi-racial definitely has its perks. Am I catholic or am I Buddhist? Chow!

I’m an ethnically ambiguous 1/2 Vietnamese 1/2 Caucasian American and the creator of www.EatinAsian.com. My mother was born and raised in Vietnam and my father was born and raised in Pennsylvania. I don’t feel weird taking 15 plastic bags from the Target check out to bag up my one tube of mascara cause hey, that’s what Asians do. I can’t even begin to tell you the number of uses for plastic bags.

As we get ready to celebrate a milestone in America, I’m also reflecting on being a part of a milestone celebration with the folks and students at Culinary Careers Program a.k.a. C•CAP. This year‘s gala raised more money than ever before, creating life-changing scholarship opportunities for students to pursue a higher education after high school. For many, these scholarships are more than financial support, it’s a pathway to a future that may not otherwise be possible.

Programs like C•CAP thrive because of the generosity of donors, sponsors, mentors, and supporters who believe in investing in the next generation. The Los Angeles Gala is always a highlight of my year, and I’m grateful to have played a small role and celebrating the incredible students, educators, and community that make it all possible.

Congratulations to everyone who helped make this record-breaking a success.

A big thank you to Melissa's Produce for providing the incredible ingredients featured throughout the segment. POV: You discover a tropical fruit (thank you Melissa’s) that was made for tequila 🍹🔥

Mamey Sapote is rich, smooth, naturally sweet, and tastes like pumpkin, sweet potato + caramel had a tropical baby 😍

Originally from Central America and Southern Mexico, it completely stole the show in this Reposado Tequila cocktail. 10/10 would make again.

Grab a mamey - link in bio - and check out the recipe a few posts back 👀

Giving this event some love ❤️ Had such a great time at the ELEGANCE IN PRIDE elegance event that benefits the affluent Hispanic philanthropy “Power of Love” initiative. Pride month is coming up, and this was a great precursor to all the events to come.

A little fruit education, a little tequila inspiration.

Mamey Sapote is one of those hidden tropical gems. Okay it’s not that hidden - you can pick one up at Melissa’s 😜 It’s sweet, creamy, and tastes like a mix of sweet potato, pumpkin and honey. It’s a really beautiful fruit. Native to Central America and Southern Mexico, it’s packed with flavor and makes the perfect star for both desserts and cocktails. I’m taking this beauty from and turning it into a smooth and vibrant Mamey Tequila Cocktail. Watch the video for the recipe. And dm if you have any questions.

You can grab a Mamey for your own creative cocktail by clicking the link in my profile.
