Merry Christmas from Santa and his little helper!
May you have a blessed and joyful holiday.
May you feel seen and heard.
May you set clear boundaries and hold them.
May you hold yourself especially if triggered by family.
And may you have a healthy new year!

Lavender makes me think of breezy mornings by the sea in the south of France, tall grasses dancing and soft skies. It makes me think of eyelet lace, deep kisses and long stares.
Although lavender is a gentle essential oil, it is also very powerful. Mostly known for its relaxing benefits, lavender has potent antioxidant properties that can prevent oxidative stress and smooth the skin.
I love to combine lavender essential oil with frankincense essential oil and a carrier oil blend of grapeseed oil, coconut oil, wheat germ oil and castor oil for daily postpartum body massage. This blend helps heal stretched skin and helps to firm the skin as it contracts with mamaβs healing body.

Just a little something simple I put together from some local pickings my daughter and I chose on our walk around the neighborhood.
I find itβs always the simple things that warm my heart so.
What are some simple things you love?

Healthy fats are so important for every diet. The postpartum mama especially needs them, both for her health and for babe. Studies have shown that the presence of healthy fats in breastmilk increases significantly within hours when mama consumes foods rich in healthy fats such as coconuts, avocados, and walnuts. This is important to avoid postpartum depletion and to make sure babe is getting enough healthy fats, which aid in their brain development. It also supports babeβs immunity.
These spiced custards are loaded with healthy fats and gelatin, which promotes healing of soft tissues and supports gut health.
DM me if you are interested in a postpartum snack bundle including these custards for yourself or for an expecting mama in your life. β₯οΈ

Foodie Friday is here!!!
Let's continue talking about oils and our health.
Evidence is pointing more and more towards refined oils for our epidemic levels of heart disease, not animal fats.
Refined oils, including vegetable oil, canola oil, soybean oil, margarine (including Earth Balance) and corn oil, use chemicals to process them which are harmful to us.
Furthermore, they do not hold up well to heat so they oxidize upon cooking.
This may not seem so bad in your home, where many people choose coconut or olive oils, but it's significant when eating out or buying packaged foods.
Read your labels, friends. And ask about oils when dining out. Your heart will thank you.

It's Foodie Friday!!! π₯
I challenge you to make your own salad dressing. Yup, that's right. Skip those store-bought options and save yourself a heap of calories and toxic oils.
Did you know that even the dressings that tout they use olive oil actually combine olive oils with other cheap, unhealthy oils like canola and soybean oil? Yup, that's why you need to read those labels, my friend.
All you need is extra virgin olive oil, fresh squeezed lemon, salt, pepper, ground garlic, and some dried or fresh herbs. That's it!
I promise it will taste delicious. Give it a try and let us know how it goes xoxo

Foodie Friday Alert!!! π₯
READ YOUR LABELS!
Titanium dioxide is a food additive that can be found in a variety of foods, like ranch dressing, coffee creamer, icing, and powdered sugar. It is often used to make whites appear whiter. For this same reason, it can also be found in items like paint, sunscreen, and laundry detergent.
While the FDA labels it "generally recognized as safe," research has linked the chemical to inflammatory bowel diseases, and the International Agency for Research on Cancer classified it as "possibly carcinogen to humans."
The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has listed it as a Group 2B carcinogen β an agent that may be carcinogenic but lacks sufficient animal and human research. This has caused concern for its safety in food products.
In April 2019 France said it would ban titanium dioxide starting in 2020.
Know what's in your food, friends.
Be well.
