First, let me be clear:
I am not against Botox.
In fact, in my 30s, when I first started noticing my frown lines, Botox was one of the first things I considered.

I think it can be a very effective option.

But at 51 years old, I still prefer to support my face naturally and improve the things I can improve with my own hands, my own awareness, and the techniques I’ve practiced for decades.

Maybe I’ll feel differently when I’m 60.

But today, I choose to work with my body before I ask someone else to change it.
One reason frown lines become deeper is because many of us unconsciously tense this area throughout the day.

Working.
Driving.
Looking at our phones.
Thinking.

We often don’t realize how much tension we’re holding between our eyebrows.

That’s why I recommend starting here:
The Yintang point, located between the eyebrows.

Place a finger gently on the spot.
Inhale through your nose for 5 seconds.
Hold for 2 seconds.
Exhale slowly through your mouth for 7 seconds while applying the pressure.

As you exhale, allow the area to soften.
Repeat 3 times.

The goal isn’t to erase wrinkles.
The goal is to notice.
To reconnect with your body.
To become aware of the tension you’ve been carrying.

I was raised in Japan and have spent more than 25 years living in the United States.

One of the things I love about Japanese beauty philosophy is the belief that we should first support the body naturally whenever possible.

For over 30 years, I’ve practiced facial acupressure and self-care techniques.
Today, I still follow my daily routine of 20 beauty points.

I’ve been sharing my Japanese face sculpting routine on social media for a little over a year now, and every day, a new face sculpting video pops up on my feed. I’m still surprised by how many different methods are out there, some very intense, with strong massage, pulling the skin, and pressing very hard.

I learned face sculpting from Kikutake Sensei when I was 19, and she always told me, “Touch your skin like you touch tofu.” What she meant was: be gentle, kind, and respectful to your own skin.

The method I learned is not about stressing the face. It’s about caring for it with love.

As you can see in this video, I sometimes even do this in the car. When I don’t have oil or skincare on my face, I don’t rub hard. I simply sweep the skin lightly to support lymphatic flow. Since the lymphatic system is close to the surface, gentle touch is enough.

When my face feels puffy, heavy, or dull, I sweep from the center of the face outward toward the temples, then guide everything down behind the ears, along the neck, and toward the collarbone. Think of the collarbone area as the “drainage point” for the face. The direction matters: center to outside, temple to behind the ear, down the neck, to the collarbone.

I share this gentle Japanese self-care method because I believe beauty should not feel aggressive or painful. Every morning, I do about 7 minutes of this lymphatic drainage routine, and my face instantly feels less puffy and more lifted.

But the reason I practice breathing every day isn’t because Stanford says so.
It’s because I’ve experienced the power of breath in my own life.

In my late 30s, For nearly two years, I struggled with panic attacks. There were times when I couldn’t go out to eat, couldn’t relax, and felt overwhelmed by anxiety. My heart would race, and I truly felt like something terrible was about to happen.

I tried different approaches, but the one thing that helped me the most was breathing.

Now at 51, I occasionally wake up in the middle of the night feeling anxious because of menopause 🙀When that happens, I always come back to my breath.
My favorite technique is simple:
✨ Inhale through your nose for 5 seconds
✨ Hold for 2 seconds
✨ Exhale slowly through your mouth for 7 seconds
For me, the secret is making the exhale longer than the inhale. This always calms me down and reduce anxiety.

Interestingly, Stanford researchers found that just 5 minutes of daily breathwork improved mood and reduced anxiety, with a breathing technique called cyclic sighing showing particularly strong results.

As a daily reminder to slow down and breathe, I wear this necklace inspired by the shakuhachi, a traditional Japanese bamboo flute used for centuries by Komusō monks during meditation and spiritual practice.

A few years ago, I saw this neck stretch featured on Japanese TV.

People were saying things like:

“My nasolabial folds disappeared!”
“My face looks lifted!”

Why this works?

Your face and neck are connected through muscles and fascia.

When the muscles in your neck get tight from looking down at your phone, working at a desk, or stress, they can pull your face downward and make your smile lines and jawline look heavier.

When you release that tension, your face can instantly look more lifted and less puffy.

That’s why I make sure to stretch my neck every single day.

Just one minute.❤️

I was born and raised in Japan and spent the first 25 years of my life there. I’ve now lived in the U.S. for 26 years.

One thing I love sharing is the beauty and wellness wisdom I learned from Japan—simple, natural techniques that take just a minute or two but can make a big difference over time.

① Forward head posture
Tuck your chin in and lengthen your neck.

② Rounded shoulders
Roll your shoulders back and open your chest.

③ Low tongue posture
Close your mouth and place your tongue gently on the roof of your mouth.

Now let’s drain the jawline.
Using your thumbs, start at the center of your chin and gently glide along the jawline toward the area just below your ears.

Once you reach the area below the ears, gently wiggle or massage the area. This is where many lymph nodes are located.
You don’t need a lot of pressure. Be gentle.

Then repeat from the center of the chin to the ears about 10 times.
A double chin isn’t always just about age or body fat.

Your daily posture, tongue position, and habits can make a huge difference in how defined your jawline looks.

Not sure where to start?

You can just copy my 15-minute jawline routine.
It’s my favorite face-sculpting mix of lymphatic drainage, Beauty Shiatsu, and facial exercises — all focused on keeping the jawline lifted and snatched.

As we get older, our eyelids can start to feel heavier and look more hooded. I know mine do!

Now, facial massage, scalp massage, and forehead massage can all help release tension from above, and those are important too.

But I’ve been loving this simple 3-point acupressure routine around the eyes.
As always, breathe out slowly for 5 seconds as you apply gentle pressure. There are 3 points along the bony ridge above the eye. You don’t need to press hard or pull on the skin. Just gently lift and press upward.

I especially love doing this after long hours on the computer. It helps my eyes feel refreshed, and my eyelids feel lighter and easier to open.

Everyday I work through about 20 beauty points across the face that I use for overall facial lifting, including areas around the nasolabial folds, under-eye area, jawline, and more. When I was 19, my Japanese beauty shiatsu teacher, Kikutake Sensei, said, “The collarbone area is like the trash can for the face,” and she showed me this two-finger massage.

I still remember she had the most beautiful collarbone area.

Now everything makes sense to me.
The collarbone area is one of the key areas where fluid from the face and neck flows down. So if this area feels tight or stagnant, your face can look puffy, dull, or heavy.

So I want you to start releasing it today.
You don’t need strong pressure. I simply use two fingers and gently sweep around the collarbone, like I’m opening the “exit door” for lymph flow.

Think of it as gently opening the pathway so everything can flow better.
A little self-care today creates a more beautiful you tomorrow.

Enjoy your beautiful weekend.🥰

I share easy 1-minute face sculpting techniques you can start today using only your hands. My technique is based on Japanese face sculpting.

Do this now with me🥰

Because leaving tension in the temporalis muscle can pull your face downward and slowly contribute to facial sagging.

Try this self-test:
Place your hands on your temporalis muscle and gently push downward.

You’ll see how quickly the face can look heavier — smile lines, cheeks, even the jawline.

That’s why I never leave tension here.

To keep the face lifted naturally, I focus on two things:
Releasing tension from the top down
Releasing tension from the neck and lower face upward

The good thing is, you can do this anywhere — even in the car.
Breathing and timing are very important when you massage.

Inside my Shiatsu Face Sculpting Program, I teach the correct pressure, breathing, timing, and Japanese shiatsu techniques to naturally lift and sculpt the face.

Remember… I saw a lot of beauty creators starting videos with “Remember…” and thought it was fun, so I wanted to try it too :)
Today’s beauty acupressure points:
✨ Sanchiku (inner brow point) + Taiyo (temple point)
These are two of my must-do points for under-eye concerns like hollow eyes, eye bags, dark circles, puffiness, and overall eye fatigue.
Why? Because eye strain and tension around the eyes can contribute to that tired, sunken look under the eyes. Even just gently pressing these points can help the eye area feel more refreshed and relaxed.
✨ For smile lines:
My favorite points are Kenryo and Geikou.
An easy way to remember them:
• the end of the cheekbone
• beside the nostrils
These help because tension, stiffness, and poor circulation around the cheeks can make smile lines appear deeper over time.
✨ Hyakue (top of the head)
This is one of my favorite “everything” points for women.
It helps support hormone balance, calm the nervous system, improve sleep, and reduce overall tension in the body.
And don’t forget temporalis muscle massage for overall facial sagging and lifting.
Since I was 19 in Japan, I’ve been practicing these beauty self-care methods daily. I carefully selected my top 20 beauty acupressure points and created step-by-step tutorial videos showing the correct breathing, pressure, timing, and technique.

I live in Los Angeles, and honestly, so many women around me are very advanced with beauty treatments.
When we get together, I learn so much — which doctors are good, what treatments are working, what’s new.

And I want to be very clear: I am not against Botox, filler, or any medical beauty treatments at all.

I think they are amazing options.

Who knows? Maybe one day I’ll suddenly get a facelift. Not right now at 51, but maybe when I’m 60, I’ll feel differently.
So I never judge anyone for choosing those options. Honestly, sometimes I think it takes courage.

But at the same time, I sometimes wonder…
Is there anyone like me who still wants to keep going with self-care?
Someone who wants to keep trying with massage, lymph flow, and face exercises?

That’s one of the reasons I keep making these videos every day.

And that’s why I created my programs.
If you’re like me and you still want to hang in there with self-care, if you want to connect with your own body and use your own hands to take care of your face, let’s do it together.
