The Ginkgo Myth 11/04/2024

This is a great talk/monograph on Ginko including some boiled down research that may not have the outcomes you would expect!

If you can’t commit to the 35 minutes at least listen to the last 5 which will reiterate the main takeaways:
*It’s not an ancient TC secret it’s actually “young” in its treatment history
*unlike other plant medicines, studies show that in order to get all those amazing results you’ve heard promised with Ginko use - you are best to take standardized extract and probably in capsule form, take at least 240 mg daily and take for 4-6 months - patience is a virtue!

If you are an herb nerd but not yet familiar with Sajah Popham or his Evolutionary School of Herbalism - he is an amazing resource!!

The Ginkgo Myth Ginkgo is famous for its ability to boost your memory, focus, and concentration . . . but if that’s true, why didn’t I feel any of these results when taking ...

All of our tinctures start in half gallon jars. Dry (unless otherwise stated) herbs are weighed and nestled in before a blend of vegetable glycerin and filtered water are added. I love the time with the plants during this process. It’s incredibly soothing. I ask them for their help and thank them for their gifts. I fill the rest of the jar with healing reiki energy and they are ready to brew. But they do not just sit! I visit them daily and gently shake them each, infusing them with more reiki for maximum good vibes. ☺️🌱🦋

A firefly made its way to the kitchen on my lemon balm. A little visit from the fairies I suppose! 🤩🧚🌱

Not everyone loves the flavor of flowers in tea, but their ability to support us by soothing headaches, calming nervous tension, opening heart space and on and on, is so undeniable. And they are so beautiful, aren’t they?!??

Another way I foster my relationship with plants is to do crafts that involve them. My botany game is not the strongest but my reverence is true. I embroider, press flowers and leaves, draw poorly. Even my creative “failures” manage to cheer me and foster my connection with our amazing living planet.

I just love lemon balm!!! I often refer to her as my girl crush. 😉 I make tea with the fresh leaves to take a bit of edge off in the afternoon. Add some honey and feel swept away like the Calgon commercial. She belongs to the mint family so you will be left refreshed not sedated - no worries powering through the rest of your day. Lemon Balm is a triple winner is that it’s a wonderful nervine tonic that tastes delicious. Oh and sooo easy to grow! You will find it as a staple in my apothecary and also in many of our products. Ain’t she purty straight out of my back yard pots?

So many of our herbal product formulations came out of direct need of our own family and friends. The first was hand helper. Arthritis combined with carpal tunnel drove a lot of research and a lot more trial and error. Frankincense, helichrysum and a few other friends used twice daily on sore joints brings so much relief.
