Bean update 💜🦎
Thankfully, Bean looked really good at his last appointment, and that afternoon we officially started his fungal meds. Unfortunately… he absolutely despises them. We’ve tried mixing it with baby food, Repashy, bee pollen, and so many other things to try to make it easier on him, but nothing has worked so far.
At this point, we’ve had to start burrito wrapping him and carefully opening his mouth to get the meds into him. He’s incredibly stubborn, and because of his jaw surgery we’re trying to be as gentle as possible and not pull too hard. The hard part is that even when we do get the meds into him, he keeps throwing them back up along with the food he had before.
We called our vet again today because I’m getting really worried. They recommended trying to sweeten the medication with natural dark maple syrup or taro syrup if we can find it, since sometimes that can help reptiles tolerate the taste better. We have maple syrup now, so we’re going to try that tomorrow and hope it helps.
If this still doesn’t work, I’ll have to call them back and figure out our next step because right now he’s becoming hesitant to eat anything at all. It’s taking more effort just to get him interested in his worms.
I’m mentally and financially drained right now, if I’m being honest. I just want him comfortable, healthy, and eating normally again. Hopefully this little adjustment helps him keep the meds down so we can continue moving forward. Thank you guys for continuing to support Bean and follow along with his recovery journey 💜

Bean had his recheck today and we finally got some GOOD news 🥹💚
His mouth is healing beautifully and everything is looking amazing!! We’re so relieved to see how far he’s come.
We did run a f***l, and unfortunately it came back positive for pinworms. Because of that, we picked up enough medication to treat all of our beardies just to be safe and prevent anything from spreading.
Starting today, Bean is on his new meds for the fungal infection, new one for the pinworms and will continue his injections to finish out his treatment plan. The best part? He no longer needs pain meds! 🎉 We’ll just be continuing his oral gel from here.
Thank you all so much for sticking with Bean through this journey — we’re so happy to finally be sharing a positive update 🫶

Hey everyone 🐉💜
I want to sincerely apologize for the delays on scale slings, giveaway items, and commissions. I see you, and I appreciate your patience more than I can say.
The past few weeks have been overwhelming between caring for Bean, dogsitting, and starting a new work schedule—I’ve completely run my spoons dry.
Bean update: his new meds arrive Monday (about $110 total), just in time for his appointment Tuesday. We finally have a plan in place 🖤
I do want to be honest—yes, I stretched myself too thin, but I did it to make sure Bean gets the care he deserves. That said, it’s caught up to me.
Good news: I finally have today to reset and will be working through everything this week.
✨ Self-care winners: items just need to be made
✨ Reptile winners: will be working on those items this week to send off with your scale slings.
✨ Orders: finishing slings, then moving to commissions
We also skipped vending the expo this month—I just didn’t have the capacity.
Thank you for sticking with me and supporting Bean. It truly means everything 🖤

HUGE Bean Update 💜🐉
It’s NOT cancer 😭💛
They found fungus in his bone biopsy (not yellow fungus, but an unknown type). We’re still waiting on bloodwork, but we finally have a direction.
Plan right now:
* Continue current meds
* Start daily antifungal (3-month supply)
* Recheck in a few months if needed
* Next visit: the 28th
I’m also doing deep cleans + removed anything that could hold infection.
Treatment is estimated at $150–200 every 3 months, which is a huge relief compared to what we feared.
⸻
Thank you all so much for everything… truly. Because of you, Bean got this far 💛
To give back:
🎁 4 giveaway winners
(2 self-care, 2 reptile care)
⸻
We still have a road ahead, but today… we can breathe 💜🐉

WE ARE ALL HERE TO WISH BEAN A HAPPY 7TH BIRTHDAY!!
We are still awaiting on results from the biopsy but we are keeping our fingers crossed that he is okay and will be with us for much.. much longer to continue being the hefty, sweet and lazy Bean that he is. Give him some love and positive energy- 🐉💜🦎🫶

Bean Update 💜🐉
Bean is doing really well after surgery 🥹
He’s eating soft hornworms, active, going to the bathroom, and honestly… he just looks better. Still head bobbing (of course 😂), but way less black bearding, which is a huge relief.
We’re keeping up with all his meds + care, and now just waiting on biopsy results.
On a personal note…
I’m exhausted. Between this, starting my new job tomorrow, and prepping for the Indiana Breeder Reptile Expo on April 19th (10–4)… it’s a lot.
But it’s all worth it knowing he’s okay 💜😭
Thank you all so much for the support — donations, commissions, and orders made this possible.
Current workload:
🎨 6 commissions (Suma)
5 character sheets + 1 family portrait
🦎 Scale Slings:
Ricky+ Scruff- embroidery to finish
Mysti- waiting on fabric delivery
Taking a moment to breathe, care for Bean, and catch up.
Thank you for loving him with me 💜🐉

Final Bean Update (for now) 💜
He’s home 💜🐉
Bean is very sleepy and pretty drugged up, and will be for the next couple of days. Right now my main focus is keeping him warm (80–90°) so his body can properly process the anesthesia and medications — we’ll be using a night bulb to make sure his temps stay stable overnight.
During surgery they removed the exposed bone, cleaned everything out, and stitched it closed to prevent further infection.
They also sent out two cultures (bone + blood), and we should have results in 7–14 days. Once those come back, we’ll know exactly what we’re dealing with and if we need to adjust treatment or move up his next appointment.
For now:
• Continuing medications
• Keeping his mouth clean (no buildup/crusting)
• Trying to get him to eat in the next day or two
• If not, starting critical care feeding until he’s able to use his jaw comfortably again
I’m exhausted, emotional, and so relieved to have him home.
Thank you all for being here, for supporting him, and for helping me get him through this. I’ll update again once we have results 💜 I was wanting to do commissions and work on sewing orders but after being at the office from 8am till 4pm… and now needing to keep a steady eye on bean tonight especially.. I will be staying in our room and watching him closely.

URGENT Bean Update 💜
After speaking directly with the vet today, we’ve made the decision to move forward with surgery ASAP.
👉 Bean’s surgery is tomorrow at 9 AM.
The vet believes we have to go in to clean the area and take samples to find out if it’s infection or something more serious. Waiting could mean wrong meds, more pain, and wasted time.
I used the $600 we raised as a deposit today (thank you all so much 💜)
Remaining balance: $589.21 (~$600).
I have about $300 myself and will use it if needed — he comes first.
I’m terrified… but I just want him out of pain and to have answers.
⸻
Ways to help (if you can):
🎨 $25 commissions (open!)
🦎 Scale Slings – $50
🎮 OLED Switch – $250 shipped

I’m not doing great mentally, but I’m doing everything I can for him.
Please keep Bean in your thoughts tomorrow 💜

I didn’t want to make a post like this, but after receiving a wave of anonymous messages (some from accounts labeled “Null”), I’m going to address it once and move on.
Bean is not “content” or a money grab. Bean is one of my last two ESAs from my original four beardies—Robin, Z, Levidis, and Bean. My reptiles are my family. They are the reason I get up in the morning. They are cared for before I care for myself, always. Anyone who has been here for a while knows how deeply I love and prioritize my animals, especially my beardies.
Sharing updates about Bean is me being transparent during a really difficult time. Support has always been optional, never expected.
As for my health—this isn’t new. I’ve been in and out of the hospital for the past two years due to a lung disease that does not go away. Breathing is something I actively struggle with every single day, with or without medication. I don’t share that for pity—I share my life as it is.
Regarding the house situation—we are still dealing with the plumbing issues. The timing around the holidays delayed progress, but work is actively being done now. While my partner and roommate have been working on that the past couple of days, I’ve been focused on Bean and working nonstop—commissions, my small business, anything I can do to fund his upcoming surgery.
And about cosplay—yes, I still love it. That hasn’t changed. But people grow. My focus has shifted more into creating and designing, and building my business—something I’ve had since I was 17/18. After struggling with it for years, I finally found my place within the reptile community. Vending my first expo in January opened doors to an incredible network of people who genuinely care about animals, and it’s been one of the most fulfilling things I’ve ever done.
If my content isn’t what you want to see anymore, that’s okay—you’re free to unfollow. But anonymous messages accusing me of lying, exploiting my animals, or faking my health are not okay.
To those who have supported Bean, my work, or even just shown kindness—thank you. Truly 💜🐉
