A Kawaii Boutique

Hello Everyone,

This is incredibly hard for me to write, but I need to be honest about what’s happening in my life right now.

In 35 days, I will no longer have a place to live. I’m being forced to leave the home I’ve lived in for the past six years. This place has been my stability, my workspace, my safe heaven. Sadly, I don’t have any family or close friends in this state who can take me in. As such I am having to relocate out of state just to avoid living on the streets. I do have a family friend in this other state that I can stay with for about a month, but after that I don’t know what my situation will look like.

Sadly because of the move, I have to close my business for the foreseeable future, starting next month. This alone is heartbreaking and mentally taxing. I’ve worked so hard to build this business and having to pause it so abruptly feels overwhelming, soul crushing, and just makes everything even more uncertain.

I have managed to scrape together enough, through selling my personal collectables and my last conventions, to move my personal and business belongings into storage for a couple months. I just don’t have the financial cushion to secure an apartment and create any kind of stable place. Right now what I need most is a safe, steady place so I can breathe, regroup, and rebuild.

I have created a GFM (linked in the comments) to help with first month’s rent, deposits, and basic living expenses while I transition and able to restart my life. If you are able to contribute, I would be deeply grateful. IF not, simply sharing the link would mean more than you know.

If you know me, I hate asking for help. I pride myself on being independent and figuring things out on my own. But the truth is, I’m scared and I’m running out of time. If you can help in any way, thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!

A Kawaii Boutique will only be attending two more conventions for the foreseeable future:
MAGFest (January 8–11) and Katsucon (February 13–15). After that, I’ll be closing the shop completely while I try to rebuild my life.

After six years together, my partner decided to end our relationship and force me out of our home. With very little time to prepare, I’m now facing homelessness and having to uproot everything I’ve built.

This boutique has been my passion, my income, and something I poured my heart into. Having to step away from it, even temporarily, is absolutely devastating, but right now I have no choice while I try to find a safe place to live and a way forward.
