**SWIPE TO SEE GROWTH**

As always, a little late šŸ˜…

But this time of year always brings reflection, as the seasons change I can’t help but to think of the changes my life has made since we were here last.

To say the last 2 years at No Filter Aesthetics has changed my life would be an understatement— there isn’t a single aspect of my life being on this team hasn’t touched.

I always joke that I came from a medical corporate background, so when you hear ā€œwe are a familyā€ in an interview that you need to RUN so when Laticia asked how I felt about joining the family here I was a *little* nervous.

What she meant was ā€œhow do you feel about me investing in you, as more than an aesthetician?ā€ She meant as a businesswoman, as a clinician, as a coworker, as a sister, as a mother.

There isn’t a single problem in my life I can’t turn to her for, and she’s hard to turn to sometimes because she won’t placate you, she won’t baby you, if she has invested an ounce of energy into you then she has expectations and she’ll be damned if you do not meet them.

This means I have GROWN— in and out of the treatment room, in and out of the clinic. I’ve found a place where I am no long expected to thrive in, but I WANT to thrive in.

Meeting Laticia, joining the No Filter Team, has allowed me to discover a part of myself I never knew existed.

2 years down, and who knows where we will go from here.

But with Laticia leading the charge— I know it’ll be epic.

A day late but never a dollar short, but it’s okay because I know the ADHD in Latica forgives the ADHD in me šŸ˜‚

I could talk for hours about Laticia— I know because I have šŸ˜…. She is a fu***ng powerhouse, a force of nature. Everyone who had ever met her can agree. Meeting her was literally life changing, and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

As a boss: I’ve never met anyone like her. Never experienced having a superior or owner actually listen to what you have to say, consider your feedback in decisions she makes, and check in with you while actually meaning it. She’s healed my workplace anxiety— I am no longer scared to tell my boss I messed up, I made a mistake, there was a misunderstanding. She has my back and her first priority is educating and correcting before punishment. Because of her and the environment she’s created I LOVE my job for the first time in my life.

As a friend: she’s everything you want even when you don’t. She checks in, she has perfected the balance of holding your hand and making sure you’re good before she lets you know her thoughts. Because you rarely ACTUALLY want to hear what she has to say, but she’s never wrong. If she has blessed you with her friendship, she will not baby you or just go along with whatever— she will lift you up even when you can’t or don’t want to.

She works hard, loves hard, and makes everyone around her a better person because she will set expectations for you to meet and demand that you meet them, while holding your hand and giving you the tools to be able to do it. Meeting her is never a regret.

I adore you Laticia and I look forward to many more years with you by my side. I hope you had the happiest of birthdays šŸ¤

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟for .faye ā€œFave's technique is truly her own and is phenomenal!
Her flow and amount of pressure applied is perfect.
She is incredibly knowledgeable about products and overall skin health. I've been routine with facials throughout my life and the service I had today with Faye easily takes top three.ā€

I don’t often post personal stuff—

But my boy turned 10

He’s the sweetest boy, always worried about his mom, sisters, and I.

He’s the cool kid at school who makes sure the kids who get left out are invited to every party.

He’s so much cooler than me.

I could go on forever about him, but so can every one about their kid šŸ˜‚

Lots of big feelings about him being double digits, not ready for it. But so proud of who he is as a person already and so excited to see the man he will become.

He has my whole heart and I can’t wait for all our other adventures šŸ–¤šŸ–¤

Tia loves you baby boy

**GUYS**

As I’m coming up on a YEAR here at No Filter Aesthetics (can you believe that!) I wanted to say thank you to every single client I’ve had on my table, whether you saw me once as model or I have the pleasure of having you in my treatment room every month.

I have learned so much in the past year, both as an aesthetician and as a human, and I couldn’t be where I am without my clients. Every piece of feedback, every referral, every shoutout has gotten me to where I am today.

I appreciate y’all so much! šŸ¤šŸ¤

*TATTOOS AND SUNSCREEN*

We all know sunscreen is important for our skin, and not just because it helps prevent cancer. Ultraviolet rays causes premature aging and sun damage like wrinkles, leathery skin, liver spots, and actinic keratosis. This is why a good SPF is my Number One anti-aging tip.

But today, a lot people don’t just have skin to protect from UV damage— tattoos need protection too. As the skin gets looser and wrinkled the tattoo will become stretched, causing the art to become distorted. The sun will cause the colors to fade, blurred, and the sharp lines will dull.

Using a 100% mineral sunscreen with Zinc Oxide is the best option when looking for pro-tattoo SPFs.

So if you won’t wear sunscreen to protect your skin (like okay?? But why?), at least wear it to protect your investment. You spent a lot of money to get that artwork done, so protect it with some SPF— and then also do the rest of your body. Don’t be an egg.

*ANTI-AGING*

My #1 tip when asked how to begin an anti-aging regimen is SUNSCREEN. This step is sooo important in your skincare routine, and will always be on my list of ā€œmust-have minimalist’ routines. We can excuse you not using a Vitamin C serum but not using a SPF is a no-go!

We all know that going without can lead to sunburns, which are uncomfortable, and we all KNOW it can cause cancer but exposing your skin to UV rays can also cause hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation, actinic keratosis, solar elastosis, and wrinkles. This is because those UV rays are capable of penetrating the skin at a deeper level and reach the cells that don’t have melanin to protect them— leaving long lasting damage.

Speaking of skin cancer— do you know why it’s one of the deadliest? Due to the close interaction between the skin and our blood vessels, skin cancer is easily metastasized by entering the bloodstream and moving to other organs within the body.

So what kind of sunscreen do you need? It should be 100% mineral, have a SPF ranging between 30-70 (any higher isn’t actually necessary), and ideally, it should help your skin.

Good thing we have amazing SPF products on hand, that not only PROTECT the skin but also HELP the skin.
