This is Matthew, a patient at our Lincoln Park clinic—and his journey is just getting started. Only six weeks after receiving his first prosthesis, he’s already ridden more than 150 miles around town. 🚴♂️
This World Bicycle Day, we’re celebrating the determination, resilience, and freedom that comes with getting back to what you love. Because mobility isn’t just about movement—it’s about momentum.

“It’s been an interesting, life‑changing journey.”
After losing his left leg in a motorcycle accident, Randy spent weeks in the ICU and months pushing through rehab—showing up for PT, putting in the work on his own, and refusing to slow down. Just before Christmas, he took his first steps with a temporary leg. Today, he’s walking independently and closing in on his permanent one.
Never give up.

We’re loving these custom KAFOs from our Madison Heights central fabrication team. 🦾🛠️
These unique orthoses feature an innovative hybrid design, pairing Ottobock’s Free Motion and unilateral Cable Knee joints for dynamic control and stability. We finished the build with a PDE strut to capture and return energy through the step. For that signature look, the laminated carbon fiber is infused with a rich blue resin dye.
Crafting the future of mobility, right here in Michigan.
Every great fit starts with a perfect mold. 🛠️✨
Once we have a cast of the residual limb, the modification process begins. It’s not just about replicating a shape; it’s about strategically adding and removing material to ensure pressure is distributed exactly where it needs to be. This hands-on detailing is what makes the difference between a limb that "fits" and a limb that truly supports.
Check out how we smooth and shape the positive mold to prepare for the final socket! 🦾

Amelia, a patient at Scott Sabolich Ottobock Care in Oklahoma City, is an incredibly talented artist who wanted to share part of her portfolio. Amelia has used her art to tell her story and beautifully says, "Together, these pieces document my evolution, reclaiming my body not as something diminished, but as something reimagined and undeniably powerful."
Meet Shelby! 🛠️ Currently finishing up her residency at our Warren location, Shelby is a master in the lab.
