We tend to think that dehydration looks like fainting, severe headaches, and being hooked up to an IV, But the truth is that the majority of us (more than 75% of adults!) are living with chronic mild dehydration, which means our bodies are being forced to operate with less fluid than they require, but have gotten used to existing in this state.
Chronic mild dehydration means that you arenโt so dehydrated that you need to go to a hospital, but are dehydrated enough that itโs impacting your health and ability to function. A decrease in your hydration as little as 1-3% can result in a measurable cognitive loss, and not only can it lead to the ailments listed below, it can also lead to more serious health concerns and disease.
The list below is just some of the weird signs of dehydration that many of us experience every single day. Honestly, if you had asked me to assess this list ten years ago I probably would have checked each one of them. Itโs amazing how things can change once you start hydrating properly!

- 1 cup Greek yogurt, plain
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 1 tbsp lemon peel, raw
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 cup raspberries
- 1 1/2 tablespoon honey
- 1/4 cup chia seeds
๐๐ก๐ฆ๐ง๐ฅ๐จ๐๐ง๐๐ข๐ก๐ฆ
1. Combine all ingredients in a large storage container with a lid. Mix in all the chia seeds, and mash the berries lightly, especially if using frozen raspberries.
2. Place the lid on the container and refrigerate overnight or for at least 8 hours.
3. Serve with extra raspberries and a drizzle of honey if desired.

-You can substitute any milk for the coconut milk.
-The lemon peel (zest) and juice equal 1 medium lemon.

โThe image on the left came up on my husband's phone, and he showed it to me to encourage me on how far I have come. It took my breath away. I have avoided the camera at all cost most of my life so there arenโt very many pictures available of me (one of the casualties of having a poor self image). But this one was taken.
The girl on the left was happy enough. Three of our four children got engaged the month before. My husband and I had started playing tennis again and joined a tennis club. But the truth is, she was tired. She was frustrated and felt like her body was broken. She was afraid of food because she had so many food rules in her head. She was pretty hopeless about her body ever changing.
2018 Susan was eating so very little and working out like a fiend. She wanted answers and thought there were none.

โข 2/3 cup quinoa , rinsed
โข 1 cup canned chickpeas , drained and rinsed
โข 3 mini cucumbers , chopped
โข 2 cups multicoloured cherry tomatoes , quartered
โข 1/4 red onion , finely chopped
โข 2 tbsp cider vinegar
โข 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
โข 2 tsp dried Greek oregano
โข 1/4 tsp salt
โข 1 avocado , sliced
โข 2/3 cup crumbled feta
โข 8 kalamata olives , pitted
โข 1/2 cup hummus or tzatziki
๐๐ก๐ฆ๐ง๐ฅ๐จ๐๐ง๐๐ข๐ก๐ฆ
โข COMBINE quinoa and 1 1/3 cups water in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer. Cover and cook until tender, 15 min. Remove from heat and let stand 5 min. Fluff with a fork, then stir in chickpeas.
โข STIR cucumbers, tomatoes, onion, vinegar, oil, oregano and salt in a bowl to combine.
โข DIVIDE quinoa mixture among bowls, then top with cucumber salad, avocado, feta, olives and hummus. Drizzle with any leftover dressing. Be sure to share with a friend!

Yield: 4 to 8 servings
๐๐ป๐ด๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐:
4 avocados, halved and pitted
3 (4.5 oz) cans tuna, drained
1 red bell pepper, diced
1 jalapeno, minced
1 cup cilantro leaves, roughly chopped
1 lime, juiced
salt and pepper

Scoop out some of the avocado from the pitted area to widen the "bowl" area. Place the scooped avocado into a medium-size
mixing bowl. Mash it with a fork.
Add the tuna, bell pepper, jalapeno, and cilantro to the mixing bowl. Pour lime juice over. Stir it all together until everything is well mixed.
Scoop the tuna into the avocado bowls. Season with salt and pepper and dig in! Let me know if you are going to make this.

Powell says the plants do this by interacting with the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis and the sympathoadrenal system, both of which are involved in the bodyโs response to stress. Adaptogens may tweak hormone production and physiological responses to stress to ensure that your bodyโfrom your mind to your immune system to your energy levelsโfunctions as it should, Powell says.
