Sun tip: start getting sun early in the morning before UV is high to build a sun callus and acclimate your body to the shift in seasons 🌾 start with 10 minutes, then 20, then 30 and continue to gradually spend more time in the sun later into the morning to naturally build your melanin stores which naturally protect against UV rays. A tan is a protective layer ☺️ we need sunshine to thrive ❣️

The Eastern White Pine serving 4 different purposes for kitchen medicine🌲

I used organic vodka in my tincture, covering the needles entirely. This will sit 4-6 weeks before I can strain it. This will serve for an immune boosting tincture as well as respiratory aid.

I used organic cold pressed olive oil in my infusion, also covering the needles with oil and filling close to the top, this will wait 4-6 weeks before I can use it in any product such as soap or body oil. This one needs to be shaken often to avoid any mold growth on the top from the fresh needles.

For my tea I threw in a small bundle of roughly 50 needles I cut in half, and let steep for 5-10 minutes before straining and drinking to reap its Vitamin C.

Lasting the Pine Needle Bug was RO water, 3 TBSP of organic cane sugar which will get eaten up by the Lacto-bugs. For a full recipe and process I recommend a little personal research ✨
