How many sessions will I need?

Candela recommends a baseline of 6-8 sessions for everyone.

Average needed is 6-12 sessions.

It varies per person based on your body, hormones, genetics, age, gender, ethnicity, hair color, skin type, hair thickness.

With every session, you will get another 10-15% reduction!

After you complete your baseline sessions, you only come in if needed, for maintenance, based on your hair growth cycle!

What age do I need to be to start Laser Hair Removal?

For females, we recommend waiting one year after onset of your menstrual cycle. For males, we recommend waiting one year after puberty. This is to allow your body to regulate your hormones on their own, and then we can begin LASER.

Can I be in the Sun and Laser at the same time? In general, you should avoid sun exposure before and after laser treatments to ensure the best results. Sun exposure can make your skin more sensitive to the light energy used in laser treatments. Our recommendation is to always laser before you go on vacation, and before you’ll be in the sun. Why do I need to shave before my Laser Hair Removal Session?

Laser targets the hair follicle, in the dermis layer of the skin. Laser does not target the hair itself. Therefore, you want to make sure that your hair is fully shaved properly before your laser session, this way the laser is able to directly target the hair root follicle, without any hair blocking the laser.

How do I prepare for my laser hair removal session?

* Take a shower and fully shave the areas that you’ll be lasering.
* Don’t apply any lotions or moisturizers before your session.
* Avoid plucking, tweezing, waxing, and tanning for 3 weeks before your appointment.
