Pasta Sunday Success - Baby D tried pasta for the first time and absolutely loved it!

We made ziti type pasta with two sauces: tomato and basil pesto, with burrata and Parmigiano Reggiano, so good!

My mom is a teacher, she’s enjoyed working with children for the past 40 years. She is still active in teaching and recently shared this quote with me.
This quote, source unknown, resonates in a very special way to me. I am a list maker, a task doer, an instructions follower, who loves to pour her all in everything I create.
As a mama, I’ve struggled to find the time to be creative outside of work - I have a career as an interior designer.
Lately, I have made myself the promise to engage with my kids in creative activities after school, at least 1-2 times a week. We sit together outside and doodle with chalk on our porch pavers, we take out our crayons and draw Mickey and Goofy or any other character my toddler likes that day, we work on our monthly school project, we go on long walks around our neighborhood in search of lizards or mama ducks with her ducklings…
I am trying my best to make these small little moments into great happy and memorable moments for my kids. I want them to live and learn to know that these little ordinary and simple moments are truly extraordinary.
Amazingly, by taking the time to explore and enjoy with my kids, I return to work the next day fully recharged and refueled to create.

Watched Disney’s Encanto movie yesterday, and loved it so much that we are rewatching it today. It has so many valuable lessons in mental health and self worth, and setting boundaries with family and community members. Make sure to include this movie this holiday!

I must confess I found this mug insulting when it was gifted to me when pregnant with Sam.

It is now that I understand that to be “tired as a mother” is a true gift. It means you are giving your 💯 to your children, your home, your family, your work, and last but not least, yourself.

But, you cannot do all at once, prioritizing is key! IE: leave the breakfast dishes undone for a few hours while you play with your kiddos on a Saturday morning, or you stay up an extra hour to binge watch Ted Lasso, golden!
