8 tips to prevent bad breath
1. Take care of your oral health
The best way to prevent bad breath is to keep bacteria away from your teeth. Brushing your teeth after every meal (including snacks), flossing your teeth (it can be the last brush of the day) and applying mouthwash are all great ways to prevent bad breath.
2. Use the tongue scraper
This is not a very common practice, but it should become a habit! In addition to teeth, we can also find numerous bacteria on the tongue. The tongue scraper can reduce bad breath for the short term, helping in more urgent situations.
3. Always moisten your mouth
Drinking, on average, 2 liters of water a day helps the functioning of the body as a whole and hydrates the mucosa of the mouth. It reduces bad breath! Another way to ingest liquids and keep your mouth always hydrated is to consume juices, especially citrus ones.
4. Eat every 3 hours
In addition to making your metabolism work faster — which helps you burn more calories — eating every 3 hours also helps keep bad breath at bay. When we go many hours without eating, a large amount of gastric juice is released. Remains of this acid can reach the mouth through the esophagus, causing bad breath.
5. Go to the dentist periodically
As much as we brush our teeth, use dental floss and mouthwash as the script says, going to the dentist periodically is essential. The only way to thoroughly clean your teeth is to go to a professional's office to have them cleaned. This is an excellent way to prevent bad breath!
6. Avoid excess mouthwash
Even if the purpose of the mouthwash is to freshen your breath, using it in excess can have the exact opposite effect. This is because the composition of the product contains sodium lauryl sulfate and alcohol, which are substances that cause the mouth to dry out.
In this way, the mouth becomes more sensitive and peeling can occur. Thus, there is an increase in the production of bacteria in the region and, consequently, this causes the odor of bad breath. It is the same relationship as the abuse of alcoholic beverages mentioned above.
7. Have a proper diet
Everything we put into our body will have positive or negative actions. What you consume is absorbed into your bloodstream, and strong ingredients like onions, garlic, and spices can make you smell bad. The lack of carbohydrates in the body also causes a breakdown of fatty acids, which causes odor in the mouth.
8. Quit smoking
Ci******es are a major health villain, and bad breath from smoking can even come from the lungs. If that's the case, using mints to try to remove the smell doesn't work. In addition to leaving the bad odor, there is still the risk of cancer. Therefore, the best thing to do is to quit the addiction and have a healthier life.

5 tips for a healthy mouth
SANITATION
To avoid the most common oral problem, which is caries, the main tip is correct hygiene. Cavities are caused by bacteria that live in the mouth and use the sugar in food to produce acids that destroy teeth. With lack of care, the disease can cause pain, discomfort and even tooth loss.
There are also cases of gingivitis due to the accumulation of bacterial plaque formed by food debris accumulated on the surface of the teeth and gums. When left untreated, it can advance and reach the bone that supports the tooth (periodontitis), causing exposure of the tooth root and mobility, which can also lead to tooth loss.
BRUSHING
You need to brush your teeth every day, after every meal and before bed. Teeth hygiene should be done using an appropriately sized toothbrush with soft bristles and toothpaste in the recommended amount according to age group. Complement your brushing by flossing between all your teeth. Brushing your tongue is also very important, as it accumulates food debris and bacteria that cause bad breath.
DENTIST
Visiting the dentist regularly is also essential. The Unified Health System (SUS) offers comprehensive oral care to all Brazilians. The oral health professional should be sought, even in cases of alteration in the mouth, wound that does not heal, even if painless, stains, lumps, swelling, whitish or reddish plaques.
CARE FOR ALL AGES
It is important to take care of your teeth at all stages of life. During pregnancy, the pregnant woman can do oral monitoring, because with the hormonal changes common to pregnancy, such as an increase in the hormones estrogen and progesterone, they can worsen the conditions of periodontal diseases, such as bleeding in the gum.
With the birth of the baby's first teeth, a wet gauze can be used to clean it and the child will get used to the oral hygiene routine. The appropriate thing is to brush with fluoride toothpaste and introduce healthy foods, without artificial sugar, such as candies, lollipops, chewing gum, artificial juices and soft drinks, which even compromise the health of the teeth.

#2 Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken by justataste
Yield: 4 servings
Prep Time: 20 min
Cook Time: 5 hours
Ingredients:
3 large bone-in, skinless chicken breasts (2 1/2 to 3 pounds total)
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
1/4 cup blackberry jam
1/4 cup hoisin sauce
2 Tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup diced onion
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
1 Tablespoon cornstarch
Sliced scallions, for garnish
Sesame seeds, for garnish
Equipment: slow cooker
Directions:
Arrange the chicken breasts in the slow cooker so that they are not overlapping.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, blackberry jam, hoisin, olive oil, garlic, onion and crushed red pepper flakes, and then pour the sauce over the chicken. Cover the slow cooker and cook the chicken on LOW for 4 to 5 hours until the chicken is fully cooked.
Using tongs, remove the chicken from the slow cooker (reserving the liquids) and place it on a cutting board. Remove the bones then use two forks to shred the chicken into smaller pieces. Place the shredded chicken in a large bowl.
In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch with 3 tablespoons of cold water to make a slurry.
Transfer the liquids from the slow cooker into a small saucepan set over medium-high heat and whisk in the slurry. Bring the sauce to a boil and cook it until it reduces and has thickened slightly, about 3 minutes. Pour the sauce over the chicken, tossing to combine. Serve the chicken topped with sliced scallions and sesame seeds.

#1 Spinach and ricotta frittata
Serves for 2
1tbsp oil
1/2 onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
100g mushrooms, sliced
3 eggs
50ml milk
Black pepper
100g ricotta cheese
50g fresh spinach, thinly chopped
Heat the oil in a frying pan, and cook the onion, garlic and mushrooms over a medium heat for 5 minutes, until the onion is soft and translucent.
Meanwhile, lightly beat the eggs with the milk and plenty of black pepper.
In a separate mug or bowl, combine the spinach and ricotta.
Remove the onion mixture from the heat, and transfer to an oven-proof dish if you’re planning on baking your frittata. If not, leave it in the pan. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the vegetables, and dollop the ricotta mixture on top, ensuring that all areas of the frittata get some ricotta.
If you’ve constructed your frittata right in the frying pan, use this method to cook your eggs, alternating between the hob and the grill to cook the frittata from both sides. Alternatively, place your oven-proof dish in the oven, and bake for around 20 minutes at 190°C (Gas Mark 5 / 375°F), until the eggs have set.
