人生は全て上手く行く訳では無い。。丁度２年前のLunar New Year (辰年)。初めてファッションショーのヘルプの話しをWarren-Tricomiの先輩から頂いた。もの凄く楽しみにしていたし、先輩の役に立てると思っていた。
ショーは素晴らしかった。しかし思っていた様にはヘルプが出来ずに自分の中ではかなり凹んでしまった。
今までのサロンワーク人生で失敗は有ったものの、近年ここまで凹む事は随分無かったので久しぶりに堪えた。このままサロンワークに没頭しようか？ファッションショーの仕事は自分にとっては無縁の物なのかも？もう諦めようかな？色々と頭の中で過ぎっていった。
でも、自分が独立して経営者になるにあたって、長い間カラーリストをしていた自分が又カットの再練習をして1人で営業出来る様に頑張ったし、今回の話を受けさせてもらったのも自分の今後の役に立つと思って受けたのを再確認してもう一度頑張ってみようと思った２年前の日でもあった。

Not everything in life goes smoothly…

Exactly 2 years ago, during Lunar New Year The Year of the Dragon, I received my first opportunity to help with a fashion show from a senior at Warren-Tricomi. I was incredibly excited and truly believed I could be of help to my senior. The Show was excellent.. However, I wasn’t able to support the way I had hoped, and I felt deeply discouraged.

Although I’ve experienced failures throughout my years working in salons, it had been a long time since I felt this defeated. It really hit me hard.. I wondered if I should just focus solely on salon work? Maybe fashion shows simply weren’t meant for me? Maybe I should just give up? All kinds of thoughts ran through my mind.

But as I reflected on becoming independent and running my own business, I remembered how, after many years as a colorist, I retrained myself in haircutting techniques so that I could manage everything on my own. I also reminded myself that I accepted this opportunity because I believed it would help me grow in the future. That was the day I decided to give it another try and keep pushing forward, exactly 2 years ago.
