With my patientβs permission to post, here she is experiencing Myofascial Unwinding, which is an involuntary movement -facilitation of approach. As John Barnes had explained in his courses, βunwinding is the mind-bodyβs ability to self correct.β Patient has had history of TMJ pain, right shoulder pain and low back pain/herniated discs issues. She had a break through 2 weeks ago during our session, where she started to unwind with both of her arms/shoulders only for 25 mins & then after, everyday at home for almost a week & 1/2 with her arms, low back & legs respectively, unwinding. Patient has reported feeling straighter when she stands, more balanced overall, less tight & started jogging again. π

Tennis ball is a good tool to use to get to those tight, restricted spots around the shoulder blade, neck, chest and arm areas (hold the ball on areas for 3-5 mins). Loosening the tension on muscle and fascia first is important before any range of motion exercises or strengthening exercises. A friend had contacted me regarding shoulder injury she had few months ago and my take on surgery. She had limited range of motion, tightness all around her neck and shoulder, pain with certain movements, especially at night with disrupted sleep and was always uncomfortable. After a week of using the tennis ball, she reported decrease in pain, was happy to be able to sleep, increase range of motion and felt looser and better overall. ππ

Since my 13 yo daughter towers over me now, sheβs at this age where posture imbalances & changes occur. I posted back in December in about her pelvis and trunk shifts, fascia restrictions contributing to the imbalance and performing MFR on her. LEFT photo is her at lnitial evaluation in December; Middle photo is her After MFR on the same day; RIGHT photo was yesterday after her 4th MFR treatment. βΊοΈπ. Love this work πππ½
