The new fragrance from Shalini Parfums, Voile Mer, was created as usual by perfumer Maurice Roucel, and it is an homage to the sea and the emotions that it makes us feel while we connect to nature. The composition uses sea kelp as the starting point for what the perfumer considers as a very unique composition within his repertoire.

Voile Mer is the Veil in the Sea, the forest alive beneath the surface. Our soul yearns for the Sea, a longing to return to the Sea, our home. Our innate connection and draw to the Sea reminds us that this is where it all began, our veins flow with salt water and our chests rise and fall like the tide.

In Voile Mer, there is a link between seaweed and oakmoss, the forest under water and the one outside of it. Kelp forms cathedrals from the sea floor to the sea ceiling. Seaweed extract is grounding and purifying for the soul. Oakmoss essence has a deep earthy-woody aroma promoting a sense of peace and bringing the green of the ancient forest to the parfum. A forest above and below the water, it is ethereal, transcendent and green. Between them, water is the link. The salty air is infused with jasmine and muguet as you swim upwards to the blue of the sky. The waves lapping on your skin and sounds of laughter of children at play. Swimming together, skin on skin, souls merging in the salt of the Sea, with the golden embrace of amber and the protection of salt – mineral, pure and spiritual.
