A woman was swallowed by a manhole after the cover suddenly gave way beneath her in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Authorities suspect the cover had been left unsecured by cable thieves earlier that day. The victim, 35 year-old Fabiana Rosa, was rescued and treated for several injuries, including a broken leg.
The shocking incident was captured on security cameras.

A hot air balloon made an emergency landing in downtown Košice, Slovakia, after a mid-air collision during the 29th International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta.
According to eyewitnesses, two balloons came into contact while one was ascending and the other descending, causing damage to one balloon's envelope and forcing a rapid descent.
The pilot successfully landed the balloon on a busy road near the Aupark shopping center, avoiding nearby buildings, power lines, and traffic. Five people were on board. One person reportedly suffered minor injuries, while no one on the ground was hurt.
Witnesses praised the pilot's quick thinking, calling the landing "brilliant" under extremely difficult circumstances. Authorities are investigating the incident.
