I was called to assist the illustrious who did B’s makeup for the video (and countless others). I did grooming for (the male lead) as well as makeup for the band. Beyoncé had me at hello. So hard working, all the things you read and imagine and more. I remember every detail about that shoot and those that followed with this icon, but the one that sticks out most in my mind is that her charisma was so powerful that I couldn’t even look into the playback monitor without blushing because it felt like she was singing straight into my soul

We count our lucky stars for your comedy, your creativity, your steady and grounded presence. I also love that you don’t care for social media and probably won’t see this message for a week. Most of all, we are beyond grateful for that gorgeous heart of yours that wraps the 3 of us up in love and shines out through those beautiful baby blues. A half century never looked so good baby. Needed some comfort food today. This Corn And Green Chile Soup recipe by is easy to follow, seasonal and stick-to-your-ribs tasty. My husband - a meat and potatoes guy- had 3 bowls. I threw some Black Lime & Chili Salt on top which is my latest condiment obsession. Have you tried it? It makes everything from watermelon to fish better. I am wondering right now why I’ve never tried it on chocolate. 😘 🌽 🟢🌶 🧂 🍫

Social media can feel like a drag in many ways, a pull to leave the moment, compare, project, judge ourselves against impossible standards that aren’t even real life. One thing that I do love about it is connecting with skincare/ recipe whisperers and sharing beauty/ food rituals that feel like forms of mediation and self care. I know I post food a lot but that’s the highlight reel- I order takeout and cook my kids frozen food on the regular too. Sometimes it’s gotta be done. But boy does it also feel good when you can to make something with your hands. Enter ! Thank you, Salwa for knowing how much joy I would get out of cooking this recipe. One-Pot Zucchini Basil Pasta. Swapped in Potato Gnocchi because I’m on a gluten-free-ish kick and microplaned the garlic instead of chopping. I’ve been really into how that simple method can really intensify how the garlic flavors a dish. Speaking of flavah, I threw in a little lemon zest, smoked Maldon, Zanzibar Black Pepper 💁🏻‍♀️to the Gremolata. Which sounds fancy but it’s really just chopping a bunch of herbs and almonds for a crunchy fresh topper. And then you can feel proud of yourself because you made a Gremolata! Seriously though, I haven’t made anything this good and easy in a minute! Other than the chopping it was pretty much a 15 minute process too. Highly recommend. Lmk if you makeeee.
