Potency is perfected and captured through the essence of ingredients that lend their powers to us through nature.
A quick cure for dried out hair? Warm up some olive oil and gently massage into your scalp. Then work through out the rest to the ends. Make a neat braid and keep it under wraps under a towel or hair turban. Let the oil soak in for a few hours or overnight. Wash out and condition and you'll have fabulous, shiney, healthy hair!
It's time to switch up your moisturizer. Especially if you have dry skin. Using a richer moisturizer for face & body will help to fight off dry scaly skin in the upcoming winter months.
Gentle exfoliation for cooler skin: combine equal parts plain oatmeal, honey, and yogurt. Mix and gently rub all over your face and neck. Enjoy
The air is getting cooler and dryer, time to switch to a richer moisturizer for your skin. Don't neglect your hair either! Remember to use oil to massage into your scalp and ends. Olive oil is a great to-go that you probably have in your kitchen now.
Are you excited for the cooler weather or missing summer already?
Getting breakouts around your mouth or chin area? The culprit could be your phone! Think about it, we all pretty much have smart phones that we are constantly on the phone and the dirt and oils from our fingers get on the screen. We then and calls and where does that dirty screen end up? Yep, on your skin! Keep your screen clean and you should see a difference! It's the small things guys!
If you have an oily scalp here are some tips for healthy hair:
• Add three tablespoons of lemon juice to 1 cup of warm water. After shampooing, soak your hair with the mixture, Leave it in for 5 mins and then rinse with cool water
• You can also add 1 raw egg to your dollop of shampoo and wash normally; watch the egg and too-warm water otherwise you’ll get scrambled egg in your hair!
• After you shampoo, instead of putting on conditioner on your scalp, put it only on the ends of your hair alone and rinse normally
One of the best ways to get a glowing complexion and maintain healthy weight, is getting the right amount of sleep! Seems easy, but many of us don't get enough sleep, or over-sleep, which can cause puffiness, under-eye circles, acne, stress and other health issues that may become serious. One great way to promote restful, relaxing and deep-sleep (which is when your body is repairing itself from the inside out), is to create a peaceful area (bedroom). Some things you can leave out may be seem drastic, but they make a huge difference in your sleeping habits: no TV, no computers/laptops, and no clutter. Use dark, light-blocking curtains that are also energy efficient. Some other products you can use to promote a soft, comfortable and cozy space are lavender spray for your sheets, lavender-scented body lotion to give you tired feet a quick massage before bed and if you like, a relaxation mix of music to help you drift off to sleep. Remember to use helpful apps like "Night Watch" to prevent disruptive and non-essential phone calls/messages from waking you; while allowing you to 'white-list' contacts that are important. Wish you all a happy Monday and relaxing rest-of-the-week!
Does your sensitive skin balk at an exfoliation because its just too harsh? Exfoliating twice a week is incredibly important to revealing smoother, younger, and brighter skin. It is also a great way to fight premature aging, wrinkles, and the effects of sun and other exposure. Use some fine rice flour mixed with either rose water or honey or even milk and gently use to exfoliate your skin. Rice flour has a silky and fine texture and is a lot gentler on your skin. It'll leave you looking radiant!!
Is your hair suffering from the sun, chlorine, salt water, over exposure to the sun? Try a great at-home treatment as follows: Cut and mash up one rip avocado. Mix the avocado with one egg. Apply the mask generously from root to tips to your hair. Wrap up and cover with a shower cap. Leave it to set for about 2 hours (or longer if you like). Shampoo with sulphate-free product. After shampoo, rinse your hair with beer! Condition as usual. The avocado has natural oils that are very nourishing. And the egg will add shine and body to your hair. Rinsing your hair with beer will help to rid the build up and residue on your scalp. Enjoy your luscious and refreshed locks!!
