Embrace your scars

I have felt self-conscious about the scars on my knees that came as a result of my double knee replacement. For four years now, I’ve covered them up so no one would see them. But at a recent shoot in New York, I was about to change into pants, but then I thought, Why not! I loved the outfit. And more importantly, I love my knees, and the new lease on life they’ve given me as I stride into my 70s. I have no reason to hide them. I’m proud of what they represent.

Posted • The EU has banned a key ingredient found in many gel nail polishes.

The ingredient, trimethylbenzoyl diphenylphosphine oxide, helps gel and hybrid polishes harden under UV light. It remains allowed in the United States.
