This was one of those “think on your toes” mornings behind the chair. She came in with old highlights, lowlights, and balayage—about 4 different levels and multiple tones running through her hair. But her goal was simple: get back to her natural root color and feel like herself again.

I cracked open my Shades EQ book and got to work, creating two custom formulas to melt everything together into one seamless, soft brunette. Her ends were sitting at a level 10 and pretty porous, so we had the conversation that they’ll need some love and likely a refresh down the road—but for today… we nailed it.

Finished it off by taking about 4 inches off, and it just brought everything back to life. Fresh, healthy, and so natural.

And the best part… this beauty is my niece 🤍 and she is absolutely stunning in her new hair.
