How to know if your stylist is experienced with extensions…

1. They show what your extensions will look like after they’ve grown out! I’m just as proud of what your extensions look like when they’ve been freshly installed, as I am with what they look like 2 or 3 months grown out.

2. Their work shows the root color of the extensions blending with the root color of the natural hair. I completely upgraded my guest’s extension experiences when I started focusing on this!

3. They have experience with different types of wefts. Many guests require hand tied wefts over machine tied wefts, since they are more lightweight in comparison.

What a difference lighting can make!

The picture on the left was taken near a window with lots of indirect sunlight. This pic best represents what her color looks like irl.

The picture on the right was taken at my chair, under our indoor lights & away from any sunlight.

Both are beautiful, but they’re very different!

It’s just a good reminder that your hair will look different depending on the lighting around you.. and artificial lights can make your hair seem more golden than it actually is!

Never know how to explain your hair goals to your stylist? Keep these tips in mind when picking out your inspo pics to take the pressure off..

The hair in your inspo photos should be around the same length as your own hair.

If you usually wear your hair straight, find pics where the hair is also straight! And vice versa. Hair color can look VERY different based on how it’s styled.

Going for a low maintenance look? Save pics where the base color is the same as your own - your natural color that grows in at your roots.

And don’t forget, major transformations won't happen in one session. Or even 2! Your stylist has to prioritize the integrity of your hair and that will guide us to what can be accomplished at each appointment. Trust the process 🤍

How to repair damaged hair 💔

1. Don't go to sleep with wet hair.
2. Use a deep conditioner once per week.. it should be balanced with moisture and protein. DM me for recommendations based on your hair concerns!
3. Switch to a silk pillowcase & silk scrunchies.

And lastly - most importantly.. stop using heat!

I know it's hard, but heat is the fastest way to break those already damaged strands.

Are you using your heat protectant correctly?

Heat protectant is not a one and done!

The best way to use it is to apply - and reapply - every time you're using heat. Even if your hair is dry!

That means before you blow dry.. and again before you curl (or flat iron).

Refreshing your curls on day two? Reapply!

Even if you're on dirty hair day 5.. reapply before you use your curling iron!

Your hair (and hair stylist 😉) will thank you.
