've even been in the same position...if so, read on - there is hope! Fast forward to mid May 2014. At this point I've tried a few different "solutions", none of which were working. I still felt miserable and I kept getting bigger, not to mention now I couldn't sleep through the night even with prescription meds and I was developing stomach problems. We were leaving for the beach in only 8 weeks, and my clothes were uncomfortable and we won't even mention how I felt I looked in a swimsuit! Anyone else have a sick to your stomach moment like that? The way I saw it, I had two choices...
#1 Give up, simply accept that this is the way my body is now, and just deal with being overweight and all the health issues that come with that not to mention the emotional issues, too.
#2 Change. I decided to change. Like it or not, the first thing I had to do was accept that I created this problem. I had abused my body for over 50 years at that point with poor eating habits, drinking WAAAAAY too much Pepsi and sweet tea, and not making any effort at all to exercise. I started to research (because that's what I do...I research the heck out of everything before I make a move) and I found out that my excuses were invalid. You see, I had been lying to myself. My mother had struggled with her weight all her life, had high blood pressure, developed blood sugar issues, and died quite unexpectedly at age 71. She also struggled with digestive issues, and most of her family had the same problems. In my mind, these things just "ran in the family" and there was nothing I could do about them. I wasn't going to go down without a fight. There had to be a way. I prayed for a way, I begged God to show me how to change so I could enjoy life again. Enter Plexus. 2022 UPDATE: Moment of transparency here...have I gained any of that weight back? Yes, some...but I still feel amazing. And now that I've been blessed with 60 years on this earth, my focus has shifted. It's totally on me that I gained some of that weight back. I allowed life to get in the way and I "fell off the wagon", so to speak. Eating healthy stopped being a big priority, as did my exercise routine. Even so, I still feel healthy, my cholesterol and blood pressure are still in the healthy range. I now have the mindset that, if the pounds and inches come off, YAY! But if they don't, or not as quickly as I'd like, that's ok, too. My health is so much more a priority today than what the scale says.
