I did some Smedium knotless braids using the Ibiza braids hair in deep bulk. I used two packs to achieve the fullness you see. In this video, I show the progression of how the hair looks based on what you do to it. If nothing is applied to it, it gives a fuller look. When mousse is applied, the curls look more tamed. When hot water is apples, it gives a slick wet and wavy look. Everyone wants something different. What look do you prefer?

I had a client today who didn’t want gel or jam on her scalp, but she wasn’t sure if the style would still look nice. Gels can be great for giving that glossy and shiny look. But if someone can’t tolerate it, it’s not necessary. Doing neat braids without gels/jams is a skill and it’s one I’ve cultivated and mastered. I’m sensitive to stuff on my scalp and if you’re the same way, it’s okay. You don’t have to sacrifice beautiful braids for constant itchiness and discomfort.

On the left is how my hair looks with just conditioner after 4 day. On the right is how my hair looks on day one with a wash and go/style. I absolutely love both and I wear both interchangeable. Would you consider one or both of these to be a protective style? I’d love to hear thoughts on this.

I have an almost two year old now and her hair is finally growing. Here is a video on how I moisturize and define her tiny coils for maximum length retention. For small children, I feel like a “less is more” approach is best. Let me know your thoughts.
