We are honored to welcome Angela Ybarra to Sol y Luna. Angela bridges Western mental health education with traditional healing practices rooted in curanderismo. Her studies have been with traditional healers within Mexico, and is separately trained as a tabaquera student within the Mamankunawa lineage with Maestra Ché.
Angela’s work weaves evidence-informed understanding (IFS, Somatics, EMDR) of the nervous system and emotional processing with culturally grounded practices such as pláticas and limpias, offering space for reflection, release, and reconnection.
Angela will be offering Limpias at Sol y Luna and also helping with our volunteers.

New! Introducing the sacred aroma of Amor de Cacao Anointing Oil
Copal has a rich history in the use of spiritual practices, healing ceremonies, and blessings. Curanderas use copal in ceremonies to cleanse, purify and protect the container, and to clear negative energy. We burn the resin to cleanse individual bodies in ritual practices as well, to help move energy and return the soul to the body.✨️
Our copal is Blanco Copal (white Copal) or Copal Santo (Holy Copal) and comes from a family in Mexico where they have been growing the copal trees for generations. To maintain a conscious and sustainable practice, they harvest only a certain amount of copal blanco per year.
The top note of this blend rushes in cacao and then the essence of copal with hints of rose and amber.
I make this anointing oil with the resin of copal that has been infused in jojoba for months, then I layer it with cocoa absolute, amber oil, rose otto and frankincense essential oil. This is truly a special blend made with all my love. Now available online or in the Casa✨️

Come circle with us☀️🌙 ✨
Sol y Luna promises to be a gathering you’ve been waiting for.
This is not a party, although we will be celebrating. This is not a yoga retreat, although we’ll have yoga & movement every day. This is not a skill share retreat, although there will be heritage craft making everyday. This is not a medicine retreat, although the medicine will be flowing from everyone and our offerings.
Sol y Luna is an honoring, of each of us independently and collectively. It is an honoring of our connection to land, to the elements, to our wild kin, to our sacred circles.
It is the honoring of the cosmic and harmonic vibration that flows through us all. It is the duality of everything and the inseparable connection to nature. It is the creative movement within, the honoring of light and dark, the energies of feminine and masculine, and the balanced offerings of the sun and the moon~ Ometeotl! 🪶
