My work vs. lash techs

Back story: Client was calling around for a last minute appointment before Easter Sunday. I spoke to her and I happened to have an open availability that Saturday afternoon. She stated she needed a fill but prefer a full set. I told her I can assess the situation when she comes in. I showed her my work to see what she likes and asked her what she doesn’t like about her previous sets.

Then removed her lashes and assessing if there is any damages in her natural lash. Luckily it was minor. During each process I educated her about lash extensions due to her previous experiences. I was mindful of all the things she mentioned. Like how she switched to UV lash due to the constant burning she felt during her appointments and how she almost went blind due to the remover getting inside her eyes. She was in shock when she didn’t feel any burning from the lash adhesive I used or from the lash removal.

I gained a new client not just because of my work but because I educated my clients about the process and why it’s important to take good care of your lashes/ eyes. Every new client I get seems to have the same issue or close similarities of story.

Educate yourself so you can educate your clients through the process and not just give a service.
