They say that your sense of smell is strongly connected to your hippocampus or memory zone and that smelling something familiar can trigger emotional memories and experiences. Well, that's what happened to me, Saturday, with a can of hairspray that accidentally leaked in our shipment that I was tasked to clean residue off the remaining products. It gave me the desire to teach myself how to curl my own hair when it finally grows out like this wig length because -

As a child,
I always admired my father's dedication to his appearance, from his perfectly coiffed hair and goatee to the aroma of Rave hairspray, Old Spice aftershave, CK Obsession, and the sound of his hairdryer in the bathroom.
He was fastidious about his attire, ironing his shirts and pants to perfection, adding a crisp crease down the center of his slacks, and polishing his shoes until they shone like new.
He was a proud man, never leaving the house unless he was impeccably dressed and every hair was in place.

I, on the otherhand, often had a wild mane of hair that resembled a bird's nest by morning, and my eccentric sense of style never failed to raise an eyebrow or two.

Despite an appreciation for natural beauty, I believe he would be proud of my career in the beauty industry and the progress I've made in learning the tricks of the trade.
