This is my gorgeous sister Madeline and we are starting her journey to be her perfect blonde. Today we hand painted her nice medium brown hair to create a soft dark blonde that will be the foundation for our future sessions.

💧Long but VERY IMPORTANT post💧
Hello everyone! As you may know, April is Earth month at Aveda and we put in a lot of effort in salons to help save, preserve, and protect water. I shouldn't have to tell you but water is VERY important. But we can do more than what we do with the help of our lovely guests. We can take this into our personal lives.

I did some research about how much water a person uses for a shower. The typical American showers for about 8 minutes and uses 17 gallons of water. Now I found that to kinda feel like a lot but fear crept up on me, "How much do I use when I take my hour showers?" And when I found out I felt loads of shame. I use about 100 gallons of water when I have my long showers. 😱😱😱100 gallons. That can be water for a day for 100 people or water for a third of a year for one person.

Now with that, I know I'm not the only person who does that and I can't control other's actions. But I can make people aware and I can change what I do. So for Earth Month, I've challenged myself to not wash my hair (the main reason that makes my showers so long 😥) and that's where these babies come in.

With our newest product launch of Rinseless Refresh and Heat Relief and our trusty Shampure Dry Shampoo, I can do this and make sure my hair looks presentable. I'm on day 11 (last hair wash was March 31st) and it's been great so far. I haven't restyled anything except my bangs (I have a weird relationship with hot tools). I've done my first application of Dry Shampoo yesterday but uses Rinseless Refresh twice. My normal cycle is every 5-7 days so I'm already pretty beyond what I'm used to and things are looking pretty good. Maybe my natural oils will heal my very sad ends 😂😂😂
