Leave‑in = moisture. Oil = moisture lock.

• Leave‑ins are water‑based.
• Oils are hydrophobic (they repel water).

If you put oil on first, it literally blocks the leave‑in from getting into the hair.
If you put leave‑in first, the hair drinks up the hydration — then the oil seals it in so it doesn’t evaporate.

Hair needs slip and softness before it needs sealing

Leave‑ins give:

• detangling slip
• softness
• flexibility
• internal moisture

Oil gives:

• shine
• frizz control
• protection
• sealing

If you reverse the order, you lose all the benefits of the leave‑in because it can’t pe*****te past the oil barrier.

Especially important on bleached, porous, or dry hair

Porous hair grabs moisture fast but loses it just as fast.
Leave‑in hydrates the inner cortex.
Oil slows down moisture loss.

This is why the combo works beautifully on:

• blondes
• curly hair
• dry ends
• clients who heat‑style a lot

Well… you usually need both — but they do totally different jobs.
If you had to choose one, the right choice depends on what your hair struggles with most.

Let me break it down cleanly so it’s obvious.

🎯 Root Lifter = Lift at the scalp

If your hair falls flat at the roots, looks “stuck to your head,” or loses volume in an hour, this is the non‑negotiable.

Use root lifter if you want:

• Height at the crown
• Lift that lasts
• A fuller silhouette
• Less separation at the scalp

Best for: fine hair, straight hair, oily roots, flat crowns, cowlicks.

🎯 Mousse = Fullness through the lengths

If your hair looks big at the roots but limp through the mids/ends, mousse is the one that changes the whole shape.

Use mousse if you want:

• Thicker‑looking strands
• More body and density
• Better hold
• A bouncy blowout

Best for: medium/coarse hair, long hair, layers, curls, anyone who wants “big hair energy.”

⭐ If you want maximum volume, you use BOTH — in this order:

1. Root lifter at the scalp
2. Mousse through mids and ends
