I began this quilt Dec 19, 2022.
306 completely different blocks.
128 different fabrics.
7,376 pieces.
1,410.25 hours in the making.
Completed on July 17, 2024.
Current condition - suffering from withdrawals.

It is the Dear Jane quilt, which Brenda Manges Papadakis patterned from an 1863 Civil War Quilt that was created by Jane Stickle. The original quilt is in the Bennington Museum in Vermont.
I modified the pattern that was a whole-cloth top, and used the quilt-as-you-go method that I love so much. Every attempt was made to duplicate (or as close as possible) the original stitchings of each block. Also, because I needed this to fit a queen bed, I added two columns and three rows of blocks to make up for the size needed.
What an intense, but lovely project to complete. Now that it has been gifted to my step daughter, I can finally share the pictures with you! I also re-named my quilt the “Dear Emily Jane Quilt”.
