“Just an inch” can mean very different things in curly hair 😂
An inch stretched?
An inch visually?
An inch off the areas that actually need it?
Or an inch emotionally, because we are not ready for more than that today.
Her last Daze Cut & Go, cut only, no shampoo, no styling, was 6 months old and still had shape, but the crown/back was starting to fall flat and her ends were dry and thin.
This refresh was about creating lift, keeping length, and bringing the layers back to life without a full restyle.
So tell me, what does “an inch” mean to you?

These are some of the crown-volume tips I’m always giving clients.
If your curls have bounce everywhere except the top, it’s usually not just one thing , it can be the cut, buildup, hydration, product amount, drying position, or how the curls set.
Save this for your next wash day 👑
Which tip are you trying first?
Before your next wash day, read this.
Before your next client, read this.
You probably know the steps. But the order and placement are where the results actually happen. Clarifying shampoo starts at the scalp and crown where dirt, oil, and buildup live. Hydrating shampoo goes to the ends first while the cuticle is open and ready to absorb while cleansing. Conditioner add from ends to roots, not your forehead 😏. And detangling happens throughout, not at the end.
The order is everything.
Save this for your next wash day 💦

She was ready for a change. ✨
She had never worn her curls this short before, and her family told her not to do it.
She did it anyway 🤭
Would YOU ever do a big chop even if your family said no?

Well, I have breast cancer. Yeah, I know—it still feels strange for me to say that as I’m in the middle of treatment (this pic is day 1 of radiation). I realized I needed to share this publicly when I learned how many were putting off their mammograms. Because I stayed diligent with my yearly screenings, mine was caught early, and my doctors are optimistic about my recovery.
For now, I’ve had to step back from the salon—both in person and virtually—more than I’d like during my treatment. Right now, I’m focused on healing so I can get back to what I love: styling, teaching, and helping you love curls! If all goes to plan, I’ll be back behind the chair and on Zoom, taking appointments again in January. For those with existing appointments, most will remain as scheduled, but my team may reach out to some of you to reschedule to a different date in the same month.
Sending love to all of you, and please, take care of yourselves. See you soon! 💕
