Today, I stand at a crossroads, preparing to release something that has been part of my identity for so long—my hair. As I snip away the strands that have accompanied me through various chapters of my life, I’m reminded that change can be beautiful and liberating. (It’s personal this time around)

That’s what it should’ve always been, but it wasn’t in the beginning. They say comparison is the thief of joy and I’ve spent my entire career comparing myself to others because I was bred to believe that that’s how you grow.

I’ve been the book judged by its cover often and often overlooked because I didn’t fit the “image” people were looking for, and continuously told I need to change everything about me to become something for everyone.

I tried to do just that become something for everyone, I made myself smaller, I spoke softer, I walked not as tall, and at the end of the day, all I had to show, for it was a tarnished image and gray in my beard.

I can’t be them, I can only be me and trust it’s only getting started. I am back & determined to succeed, don’t believe me? Just watch
