So I recently had a laser Serum treatment, and my skin was on an intense healing journey. I've been an esthetician for 12 years, and after the laser treatment, my skin needed some love and care. BeautyTap had sent me the Cle Ceramide Serum for review, and after a week, it finally occurred to me to use it. I needed to feed my skin hydration, soothing ingredients, and ceramides. And just like the Kool-aide guy Cle Ceramide Serum busts into my skincare routine.

Ceramides make up 1/3 of your outer skin and are essential for retaining skin moisture and preventing the entry of germs into your body. They are the glue that holds everything together. I put the Cle Ceramides serum to the test to see how vital it is in rebuilding my moisture barrier and starting the healing process. Cle has three forms of ceramides! Count them 1 ... I'll let you do the math, but three forms of ceramides and niacinamide went deep into my skin, rebuilding and protecting my delicate moisture barrier. Beta-glucans and hyaluronic acid pulled water moisture deep into my epidermis, calming the itchiness and redness. After my skin healed, I found that I continued to reach for this product because this is one of the first calming serums that has worked with my combo dehydrated skin in a long time.

Happy Friday, everyone. I hope that you had a fantastic January. It's been a rough start to the year, but I'm keeping my mind occupied testing out so many new beauty finds.

Fitglow Beauty uses Plant-Based Science, so it was no surprise when they released their Plant Protein Brow Gel a few months back. I have loved almost everything from this brand, so I put it to the test as soon as I received it. Lemme tell you what I loved.

The color for me is pretty great. The formula fibers help fill in my brows and the empty spaces I'm getting now that I'm older. The gel has a good hold but doesn't leave your brows feeling crunchy. In the middle of the day, I found that I needed a little lift after taking my sweater on and off. I'd reach for a spoolie, spritz it with a bit of water, or setting spray, and voila. When I create a bolder look, I reach for an eyeliner brush and use the product to carve out my brow.

What I didn't ... the brush. I have prominent brows, and I love them. I'm so glad I listened to my mom in the '90s and didn't over tweeze, hahaha. The brush is so tiny, and I'm so impatient. I end up getting a bigger spoolie and grabbing product from the brush. This seems to work best for me and my brows. You might like the smaller brush for a more precise application.

Other than the size of the brush, I love this gel. I am testing this against a "new to me" brow product I just received in PR, so I'll let you know how that goes soon.

Happy Hump Day! Loving that Halloween is just a couple of days away. Does everyone already have their costumes ready? Mine came in the mail yesterday, and OMG, it looks sooooo good.

Over the last few months, I have been dealing with the worst acne flare I have ever experienced. My face, my chest, my back, and my bum were all broken out. I'd show you pics of my bum, but I might be flagged. I began my normal treatment to no avail. I experimented with Benzol Peroxide again, and it just made everything worse. So, I stuck to my guns and continued using my favorite acne-treating ingredients ... Retinol and Salicylic Acid

Salicylic Acid, a soluble oil ingredient, works by exfoliating the surface layer of the skin, cleansing oil build-up in the pore, and helping to calm inflammation. Playing around with different formulations and strengths, I finally found products that worked well with my skin type and conditions.

Retinol works entirely differently. Retinol works by communicating with your skin on the cellular level. It encourages the production of new healthy cells, builds a stronger foundation, and controls oil production to unclog pores.

Finding a treatment that works for you might feel like a never-ending zombie apocalypse but, when you finally find the products that work, you'll love the way your skin looks.

Paris Laundry Nourishing Facial Oil is beautifully decadent and rich with skincare benefits.

It is difficult to unlearn everything that we have been "taught" about oils. Do you remember 10ish years ago when everything was oil-free? Facial oils have become a trending topic in the skincare community and we now know that face oils are for all skin types, even acne-prone.

I have been testing out the Paris Laundry Face oil for a few weeks and I am here for it. This decadent blend of oils glides onto the skin and absorbs quickly locking in essential moisture and leaving a glow that lasts all day. Rich oils like sunflower seed & marula oil soften and soothe skin while, in addition to turmeric, act as anti inflammatories calming redness and soothing even the most reactive skin types.

If someone asked what I love more Skincare or Makeup I wouldn’t be able to choose. It would be like choosing a child. (Although secretly I believe all parents have a favorite)

I can say that when I take a break from makeup I get slightly depressed. I need a creative outlet. So makeup, literally, is what makes me happy.

👋 Goodbye 2020 ... Hello 2021 🍾

Although some might look at 2020 as the worst year ever, I choose to see all of the happiness that it brought me. 

I had the opportunity to spend extra time with my fur babies. I stopped working 11 hour days on my feet. My husband and I are closer than we have ever been. When you're spending almost every waking moment together ... its sink or swim. We're swimmers. 

I had the time to join a skincare community that I am so grateful for. Grateful to have met so many creative people. To have supported and been supported by some very amazing souls. I want to thank each of you for helping me grow. Not just grow my page but grow as a creator. 

As 2020 comes to an end I am hopeful for the new year. I'm excited to continue to learn and grow. I'm excited to finally see my mom and give her a big hug.
