👉What we put on our body matters.
A few concerns with chemical sunscreens:
🔎Will the chemical pe*****te the skin and reach living tissues?
🔎Will it disrupt the hormone system?
🔎Can it affect the reproductive and thyroid systems and, in the case of fetal or childhood exposure, permanently alter reproductive development or behavior?
🔎Can it cause a skin allergy?
🔎What if it is inhaled?
🔎Are there other toxicity concerns?
From skin allergies to potential hormone disruption, many of the ingredients commonly used in sunscreens may be as damaging to our health as they are to the environment.

☀️Sunscreen conundrum 🏖
Some sunscreens that are fully allowable in the U.S. do not pass European standards. The EWG (Environmental Working Group) says it well:
🧐 "In the absence of strong rules and a responsive regulatory agency, EWG advises consumers to be smart about sun safety."
⛱ "Sunscreens should not be a person’s only tool to prevent sunburn, nor should they be used to prolong time spent in the sun."
🕶 "Protective clothing, sunglasses, hats, and sun avoidance are more reliable ways to protect the skin from UV rays."
Source:
EWG's 2019 Guide to Safer Sunscreens EWG assessed more than 1,300 products with SPF and found that about two-thirds still offer inferior sun protection or contain concerning ingredients, such as oxybenzone, a potentially hormone-disrupting chemical that is readily absorbed by the body.

The latest blog post is now up! There are so many uses for coconuts and this one is pretty nifty. 🌿🥥🌿🥥
There is Such a Thing as a Safe, Natural Preservative! We’ve all heard “ just because it is natural doesn't mean it is safe or good for you. ” And, well, I would agree with this in many ways.
