A love letter to S+S.
To the salon I’ve called home for the last seven years, thank you for helping to shape me into the person I am today. This salon and the people behind it believed in me before I even believed in myself. Alexa recognized my talent and took me under her wing from the first moment I stepped into this industry nine years ago. She gave me experiences I always felt undeserving of and opportunities where I would constantly have to ask myself “am I really good enough for this?”. Alexa and Shanna hired me on as their first employee in 2019 and with that, I was able to stand beside them as they made the most amazing brand for themselves. I have had the joy of watching them hire their first employees, build a second salon, make major renovations, grow people’s careers(including my own), invest in education, and truly put their blood, sweat and tears into everything they do.
The people I have met through this salon (coworkers + guests) have touched me in ways I will carry with me for the rest of my life. To have a place of work that feels like home is one of the greater privileges in life. Through this salon, I’ve felt my imposter syndrome slowly dwindle. I have gained confidence, I’ve found my voice, I’ve been empowered and I’ve been shown unconditional love. Leaving S+S to seek out a new adventure for myself was one of the harder decisions I have had to make but believe it or not, they have shown me support, encouraged me, and reminded me that they will always be here no matter what.
To my clients who have stuck with me through it all- your loyalty has meant more to me than I could ever put into words. Each appointment you pre booked and each time you sat in my chair was a small reminder that maybe I really am good enough. You’ve seen me grow so much and I have all of you to thank for the success that I am today. Bryan and I will be starting a new chapter in the PNW. I cannot wait for all of you to follow along this journey with me and I am so excited to see how much more is in store for me!
Second to last pic is moving into the Ladue space. Last is the first ever picture Alexa and I took together. 🖤
