My friend The Helpful Hermit, is here and she offers an assortment of herbal products, including teas. Please check her out.

The reality is that being a small business isn't enough of a reason for someone to buy from you. In fact, in more cases than not, it can actually be a deterrent. For handmade bath + body products, there can be a negative stigma to overcome, especially when it comes to manufacturing cleanliness, long/delayed shipping times, items constantly being out of stock, poor/slow customer service, labeling not being compliant, unsubstantiated medical claims or products being marketed outside of their intended purpose (RIP my hair from using cold process soap someone told me was a "shampoo bar" when I was an oily 16-year old lol) and the list goes on and on and on. For me, the small business claim is a bonus, a fun thing for my customers to know and be happy about but not the primary driver for why they purchase. Their main reason for using our soap needs to be about THEM, how THEY feel, not about me. Do my products make them feel loved? Important? Capable? Will it help motivate them to take care of themselves? “Small business” is the side note — not the headline. The real story is about my customers: their experience, their confidence, their little daily rituals that make their life better. If my products happen to check those boxes AND they love supporting a small business?
