🔆 Importance of the glaze 🔆
With about 90% of our guests we strongly suggest a glaze with almost every color service. It gives you a beautiful finish and keeps the color consistent and gives you the longevity your guests desire.
Applying the color and the glaze at the same time using the standard application not only gives you a great upsell with little time added to their appointment but the difference in their hair when they leave is what keeps them coming back for more.
It's not always about the money, even though it definitely helps, you and your guests will notice the difference!
🥣 Formula 🥣
Goldwell
15ml 5n 15ml 5k 10ml 6k@kk
Colorance 15ml 7kg 15ml 6k@kk
If you can get the color applied in 15 minutes and then apply the glaze to the hair outside of the retouch glazed in 15 minutes you will be able to have a 30 minute application snd a processing time for 30 minutes which is how most of us time our books anyway.
It is a necessary upsell that everyone will appreciate!

👩🦰 Im only booked for a cut 👩🦰
We have all been there, its the end of the day and your last haircut says... "can you fit me in for a color?"
Every salon is different, luckily we try to accommodate every client. Being a new salon, 18 months, it's imperative to be available.
This beauty just needed a freshen up from roots to ends and I happily obliged!
🥣 Formula 🥣
25ml 8n 15ml 8kn
Goldwell glaze 10ml 9n 5ml 9gb 10ml 8k
I applied the touchup and then applied the glaze from retouch to ends. As always making sure to saturate with Goldwell Structure equalizer making sure to saturate only the quadrant I am working on. The point of the equalizer is for it to be still wet when you are applying. It will dry if you apply it everywhere and then begin to apply your glaze.
Her ticket went from a hair cut to a color, glaze and haircut.
Being available to such a big part of our jobs as stylists. If you get them in the chair one time you have the potential they are yours for life!

⚠️Trigger warning⚠️
IF YOU DON’T COMPLETELY DESTROY THE HAIR YOU DON’T NEED A BOND BUILDER.
You can absolutely get bright blondes using 10-20 volume If your patient, section correctly, and trust the process.
A good portion of my guests are high lift blondes, the first visit is always informational, we talk the entire time about the process but I explain my personal low and slow methodology. I show them along the way, what I’m doing and why.
When all is said and done and I’m blow drying, I show them my round brush and how there is little to no hair in the brush.
It doesn’t even effect my personal time with them. I am still with them for the 1-3 hour of applying the foils. From there it’s waiting to be shampooed out and glazed but it’s just opening my book for a client in between. If you time your book appropriately your clients will never feel squeezed in (I’ll save this rant for another post).
In the end you can have bright blondes without the damage or need to rely on bond building.

🍂 She said give me natural 🍂
This was a little bit of work. That being said, it was worth every foil!
This beauty picked up the ends of her hair and said I want this color brought up. She was a natural virgin and had an ever so soft lighter color on her ends as all natural hair is. It gets lighter on the ends the older and longer it is. I don't need to run through all the reasons why.
I pulled that exact color up and it was FLAWLESS. (I forgot to take pictures 🙄)
Regardless, she didn't realize how close the two colors were. So we made the color a bit brighter and WOW the results speak for themselves. She still felt like a natural brunette but with the pop she was looking for.
🥣 Formula 🥣
Ash Ash with 40 vol
Goldwell Topchic Ash Violet with 40 vol
Pearl with 20 vol
I did 3 baby micro weaves from roots to ends on her sideburn area, two micro teasy lights on the sides of her head and alternated baby light and teasy light in her money piece all with the silklift pearl.
I did baby lights with the ash ash from roots to ends behind the silk lift highlights to have a subtle blend into her natural color.
I finished with the ash violet picking up what was between the foils coupling 2-3 foils at a time weaving and teasing what was left behind applying from mids to ends.
The color and the blend was FLAWLESS, that being said I NEVER let a lifted client leave without a glaze so a simple clear glaze was applied to finish the job.

🤍 Going Grey 🤍
This is such a drastically different process for everyone. This is one of my most recent beauties.
I am going to assume when she was coloring her hair she was a 5NN 5G lady. With that being said, she came to me as a referral to "remove" the color from her hair.
We go this going in two separate appointments.
Our first appointment was a full head of baby lights and a 9BA glaze. She was SO happy when she left I assumed I had a new blondie in my books. She was unsure about actually going grey or just going lighter. As you can see from the grow out of our first appointment together her hair not only oxidizes warm but she is a beautiful 50/50 split of salt and pepper.
I was stunned when she came back a few months later and wanted to commit to the grey. That being said, I was super excited to help her because she is NOT THE ONE to sit in the salon.
This formula is QUICK and EASY
🥣 Formula 🥣
10ml 10BS 15ml 10N 5ml 2N
I applied the glaze to ONLY her previously colored hair. Processed for 10 minutes.
Quick, easy and for the most part permanent. I know we cannot guarantee that but let me tell you... This lasts MONTHS!!

✋ YOU have selected the wrong products ✋
It always blows my mind that people trust us to understand the use of chemicals to alter the state of their hair but once we explain at home hair care they loose all trust in us.
Would you buy a Mercedes and wash it with a brillo pad? (Thanks for the saying )
There is an or product for everyone!

🤷♀️ Do whatever you want 🤷♀️
We all have those guests that don't necessarily know what they want or they like to keep things changing.
It has been my experience that they want a change but don't know what they want and 9 times out of 10 they don't really want that much of a change.
ALSO keep in mind that this doesn't give you cart blanche to charge them a million dollars to fill your book. Keep these beauties happy and easily malleable because it's likely next time they will want a change again. This freedom gives you the chance to be creative but also gives you a guest for life!
🥣 Formula 🥣
Darker Shade
20ml 5B 10ml 5n
Lighter Shade
Goldwell Colorance 7B
I separated the hair into the 4 quadrants and applied the darker shade to the regrowth area and applied it almost sloppily to give a jagged edge to the application.
The back two I split in half horizontally with a large zigzag parting and pulled the dark color through the ends.
I applied some left overs of the darker formula to the regrowth at the top and applied the lighter formula to the mid-shafts and ends. Making sure to fully saturate and using a denman brush brushing the two formulas together.
When I got to the front two sections I clipped the money piece out of the way and I copied the zigzag parting on the side quadrants but only when about halfway through the mid-shafts. I then applied the same way I did in the back and finished with the money piece with the lighter formula.
I know it seems like a lot but this process has never failed me and it comes out shiny and flawless every time!

There is little to no difference in the hair between room temperature to cold water while warm water may cause hair to swell slightly more rapidly than room temperature water.
With that being said, cold water does not decrease these hair's porosity so it will not make the hair shine more, warm water may raise the cuticle slightly but hair returns to its original state when its temperature returns to normal.
So, shower and wash your hair in whatever temperature is most comfortable for you because in the end, it doesn’t matter.
