Two issues I am focusing on in this post. 1- unedited pics of myself and 2- icing. I felt the need to address why I don’t use filters on pics of myself. Sad, I know. However, I received a message asking why I don’t use them. 🤔🤯. No judging, this pic is of me when I woke up this morning🤪. All that know me understand they will almost always see me in the treatment room w out makeup. Yes, I am aware that I need it. However, I’m 43 and obviously have signs of aging. I am completely comfortable not hiding behind makeup or a filter. With that being said, my photos on insta will NOT be filtered. Why? I treat skin and I feel it is extremely important to show my clients my true skin. Trust me, those filters are amazing BUT they do tend to create a false sense of reality. FYI-If you use filters this is not meant to be a judgement against you. Next subject- Icing. The routine of icing has great benefits. The cold helps reduce inflammation that causes those swollen, red, painful breakouts. I tend to breakout with inflamed papules due to hormonal fluctuations. Cystic and inflamed papule type lesions tend to benefit the most from icing. I prefer to do this on clean skin before I put my products on. The goal here is not to freeze the face, you do not want to create ice burn. You are simply making the skin cold enough to reduce those breakouts. Many people tend to treat mild acne with too harsh of treatments or products that can actually cause more breakouts and inflammation. Icing acne is often overlooked when seeking treatment. If you suffer from breakouts like this then you icing may be for you. Honestly, icing benefits most skin. Side note: To my rosacea sufferers, icing can trigger flare-ups. Be cautious. If using ice it is best to wrap it in a towel.

I begin this brief post by mentioning that Rosace must be diagnosed by a Physician. I am not a Physician, I am a licensed Esthetician. What I see are many clients seeking facial treatments and home care for proper help with this condition. The clients I see typically come to me for advice (yes, they were medically diagnosed by a Dr) when many of the prescriptions prescribed by their Dr. fail to help. When it comes to managing Rosacea there are many things to consider. What is triggering your symptoms? What types of skin care products are you using? What daily activity may be aggravating it? What types of food are you consuming? Stressed out lately? 🤣I can go on with so many more questions, the above are the ones I prefer to start with. If you are struggling with this condition and need home care guidance feel free to send me your texts (current clients ) or DMs. Each individual is usually going to experience something different. I know I cannot see you in my skin studio now -BUT-I can still virtually help you. Stay Healthy! Xoxo Kerri. Ps- Pls ignore any grammatical errors. I can’t find my glasses and I am working off my cell 🙃

To all those heroes out there, irritation from wearing a mask on a consistent basis can wreak havoc on the skin. Applying some Aquaphor or Vaseline to the inflamed areas can help alleviate the friction. If you are acne prone and your mask is exacerbating the breakouts this will help, too. Thank you for your enormous courage and bravery, I applaud you. #

A therapeutic mask during skin treatments are my personal favorite. The correct mask for your skin type can make a world of difference. Do yourself a favor and step away from those masks you are wasting your money on. You know, the ones, sold everywhere and are filled with yucky ingredients. They are more than likely adding to your skin issues. Just book a professional skin treatment. You will never look back! P.S- Those lips are REAL! So jealous. Xoxo Kerri 😎

Picking at your face. It might be one of the worst things you can do when dealing with breakouts. We all get the temptation to pop pimples. Picking just pushes all the oil, dead skin and bacteria from the pore deeper in to the follicle. This leads to an even bigger issue, a ruptured follicle wall. Chronic picking leads to scabs, scars, cysts , infection and post- inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Picking aggravates acne and makes it worse. If this is you, find a way to stop. You will be surprised at how beneficial it can be.

There are so many contributing factors when it comes to acne. I will not go in to all the possible causes at this time. Just think for a minute, what are you doing each day to bring on more breakouts? Most of you know that your treatments will include lots of my skin tips and science based facts about skin, acne, inflammation, aging, etc etc. Now, it is your turn. Go ahead, think about your every day life and how you contribute to your acne, or any skin issue that you may have.

Friends, listen up! Never EVER have I been so amazed! Those that know me understand how much research I put in when it comes to choosing products for my business, and for all of you. This right here is a game changer. I was on the hunt for skin care products that foster an anti-inflammatory environment. One that supports homeostasis. If you do not have properly balanced skin then achieving healthy skin will be a struggle. AnteAge 2 step system and cleanser will be available for purchase in my studio. Many current clients have asked to reserve this product. Yes, you can do so but you will need to pre-pay to reserve. Yes, you May also DM me or call to set this up. I was going to wait until after the holidays to share such exciting news BUT, why? Trust me, if I am posting a product then I am that blown away by it! 🤩. Xoxo Kerri

A great treatment mask can make a huge difference. I always use a mask in the treatments I offer. I choose a mask based on each individual skin condition. It is not a one size fits all!! This brings me to my point. Many at-home masks can really make or break your skin. Please, if you do not know what the ingredients in your masks are for, I urge you to not put it on! Many clients come in with irritated skin or breakouts and do not know why. Once I ask a million questions, 9x out of 10 it is from at-home experimenting. Mostly-products or masks not formulated for their skin. EVERY TIME!!!

Working out in your makeup is a skin care NO! You are basically inviting breakouts to invade your face. You are creating a breeding ground for bacteria. Seriously consider breaking this habit. Haven’t booked your treatment yet, message me to guide you. I can guide you on the correct path. Xo Kerri
