Behind the Scenes: Fixing Sinkholes
Did you know sinkholes can happen in any candle during the pouring process? As candle wax cools, small air pockets can form beneath the surface, creating what candle makers call a sinkhole.
Why do we fix them?
🌻Helps promote an even burn.
🌻Supports proper wax adhesion around the wick.
🌻Reduces the risk of tunneling.
🌻Creates a smoother, more consistent candle experience.
How we fix them:
We carefully poke small holes around the wick to release trapped air, then remelt the top layer of wax. This allows everything to settle evenly and creates a smooth, finished surface.
