If someone has scalp psoriasis, the dead skin you see is caused by skin cells building up much faster than normal. Instead of shedding over about a month, skin cells can accumulate within just a few days, creating thick, flaky plaques.

Common symptoms of scalp psoriasis

* Thick white or silvery scales
* Red, inflamed patches underneath

Hi, I’m Heidi!
I’m the owner of Heidi Smith Hair & Scalp Spa, located inside Vara Salon Suites. With over 28 years of experience as a licensed cosmetologist, I’m passionate about helping my clients achieve healthy hair, a healthy scalp, and renewed confidence.
Education is one of my greatest passions. I am constantly attending advanced hair service classes, scalp health training, and industry education to stay current with the latest techniques, trends, products, and technology so I can provide the best possible experience for every client.
I am certified in Hair Restoration through USTI, certified in Scalp Facials through Academy M, and currently studying Trichology through TrichoEDU. I specialize in scalp health, holistic wellness, luxury scalp spa services, and personalized hair restoration treatments. I also provide expert haircuts and color services for all hair types and textures using Pulp Riot, Kevin Murphy, and Scruples Blazing color lines.
Using both the BECON AI Scalp Scope and a professional magnified scope, I create customized treatment plans based on your individual scalp and hair needs. I also offer the Alma TED hair restoration system, a needle-free ultrasonic treatment that helps deliver growth serum deep into the scalp to stimulate hair growth in eligible clients.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working at prestigious events and salons, including Sundance and a Best of State salon. I’m also proud to mentor the next generation of cosmetologists through Utah’s apprenticeship program.

Heidi Smith Hair is tucked inside a building that many people don’t realize is here!

The easiest parking is in the back.

If you’re heading south into Tooele:

* Turn left onto Utah Ave by Walgreens and VASA.
* Turn right onto Garden Street just past the Walgreens parking lot.
* Continue down Garden Street. The parking lot will be on your right, near the Pioneer Museum, Merc Plaza, and Vista Linda Restaurant, directly across from the police station.

Coming from Vine Street?

* Turn onto Vine Street from Main Street.
* Turn left onto Garden Street.
* The parking lot will be on your left.

Look for the black building with the VARA Salon Suites sign. Enter through that door, and you’ll find Heidi Smith Hair in Suite 114—the 5th room down the hallway.

Please allow yourself a few extra minutes for traffic and finding the suite, especially if it’s your first visit.
