hi besties!!! 👯 I told you I was starting a series where I break down real client situations… the pain points and how we fix them! SO LET’S DO IT
this one 😭 (and she’s a new client who I just adore already 🥲)
she hadn’t colored her hair in 2 years and used a gloss she thought was just a sheer tone… but plot twist… it’s basically turned into an at-home dye 🫠
so instead of just sitting on the hair, it actually penetrated, added depth, and pulled out unwanted warmth 😅 love that for us
her goal was soft, natural, low maintenance… so we focused on breaking up that heavy tone, lifting gently, and adding back that lived-in dimension ✨
this is session ONE and I’m already obsessed 😮🔥

35 feels different… not in a scary way, just so different and unfamiliar. Life has been pretty scary and unpredictable this last year and to be honest I lost pieces of myself along the way.
pieces of me that felt safe, familiar, certain. and when life hit, it hit hard enough to shake all of that loose
and maybe this version of me isn’t the same girl I’ve always been… but she’s a hell of a lot stronger, softer, more aware, and a whole lot more intentional.
this year isn’t about having it all together
it’s about finding my wings again 🦋
learning who I am now
and giving myself permission to grow into her
I won’t let the hard seasons define me
I won’t let the things I’ve been through become my identity
they’re just chapters… not the whole story

to healing

why i fell in love with extensions 🥺✨
i got my first certification back in 2017 and instantly became obsessed with k tips 💁🏼♀️ at the time tape ins and i tips were super popular, but i was really drawn to the detail and customization that k tips offered ✨ it just clicked for me in a way i couldn’t ignore 🫶🏼
back then i made it a point to learn every method i could (except sew ins at the time 🙈) because i wanted to truly understand what was best for each client and not just follow what was “trendy” ✨
fast forward to 2021… i put on a halo for the first time just to see what my fine, short hair would feel like with a little more fullness and length 🥺 you guys… i had literal tears streaming down my face looking at myself in the mirror 😭🤍 that moment changed everything for me. i knew right then i wanted to give my clients THAT feeling… that confidence… that version of themselves they maybe haven’t seen in a long time 🫶🏼✨
i immediately invested in the bellami masters certification and learned all 4 methods 💻 tape ins, i tips, sew ins, and k tips 💁🏼♀️ it was a tedious process through the digital platform not gonna lie 😅 but sooo worth it to grow my knowledge and skills 🤍
and now… getting certified in invisible bead extensions honestly feels like such a full circle moment 🥹✨ the level of education, attention to detail, and focus on scalp health has completely elevated the way i approach every single install 🤍🌱
i’ve learned so much from some of the best in the industry and it has truly changed my work across the board… not just ibe, but every method i offer ✨ my placements are more intentional, my installs are more comfortable, and the integrity of my clients’ hair is always the priority 🫶🏼
i have a few more things i’ve been working toward behind the scenes that i had to pause for a bit because of life 🥺 but i cannot wait to share soon ✨
more than anything… i’m just so grateful i get to give my clients the gift of feeling like themselves again 🫶🏼💗 that kind of confidence is everything 😭✨

She came to me with extensions that were WAY too heavy for her natural density 😅 which was causing visible wefts 😬 tension spots 😣 and overall just not a comfy situation for her scalp
When extensions aren’t customized to YOUR hair, this is what can happen… discomfort, irritation, and long term it can lead to breakage 🥺
And we are not doing that over here 👏🏼
My main focus will always be healthy hair first 🤍 always always always
So what I did 👇🏼
I refit her placement to better support her natural hair AND trimmed down the length of her genius wefts to take off that extra weight ✂️ so her scalp isn’t being stressed out
This gave her a much cleaner install ✨ better balance ✨ and overall way more comfortable for her
For color 🎨✨
She loves a bold money piece 💁🏼♀️ so we freshened that up, added a few baby lights through her root for softness, and rooted her extensions to blend seamlessly with her natural base color 🤌🏼
Everything is working together now instead of fighting each other 😮🔥
This is just step one 🫶🏼
