Sometimes it takes going on an extended trip across the ocean to venture into a color you’ve always wanted to try. So I helped convince my friend it was time!!!!! and I were thrilled to be trusted to make our client Sam’s hair everything he wanted.

Before Elena and Sam found exactly the right color tone they wanted to achieve. What was important was to first establish Sam’s cut! So I cleaned up and gave him a more defined haircut. Sam came in with longer hair (swipe for the before,) so it was important to make sure Elena’s color was working on a fresh canvas.

In my opinion this little Tag team Duo did it again—- love working with my girl on color/cut projects!

For a CUTATHON benefiting trusted Grassroots organization in Puerto Rico helping individuals who are still being Affected by hurricane Fiona. We are asking for a Minimum donation of $60 per haircut.

Sometimes after a fresh cut your curls don’t exactly know what to do with themselves. Sometimes you have to reach out to your stylist and say “heyyyy question for ya!” Most commonly it comes down to product usage, tools, shampoos etc Every once in awhile it’s about the shaping put in and your hair just not being use to a new techniques. Two other common factors are big changes and/or lack of care; I.e waiting too long between so their before was dead, dry and dull.

One of the best feelings in the world though, as a stylist, is when your client text you and says “I never followed up, but I eventually found my hair groove and Love it!!” To top it being sent that selfie— Killin’ It with style and all— adds to the joy of why I do what I do!!!

In honor of National Recovery month AMP STUDIO will be hosting their very first Community Yoga on September 18th at 2:30pm. (Bring a Mat and Blocks as we will not be able to provide these tools for success at the studio!)

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to a local Non-Profit organization right here in DC known as The Metropolis Club with has been supporting The DC community by offering a safe and welcoming space for recovery meetings for over 50yrs.

So come on over before your Sunday brunch and have an amazing session with our guest Yogi .robertson.yoga teaching an all levels Vinyasa class.

We have limited spots available so get in while you can! Just Send over a DM and we will direct you through to the next step!

Loved helping this little human find herself in her hair! She had dreamt of cutting it all off and we made that happen.

She has a sense of FREEDOM now!!

WELCOME TO MY MONDAY LOVE!

On Mondays I love to sit in my space and take in the moment. I answer emails, I fold laundry, I clean and I admire this place I have dreamt of for many many years. It’s been quite a journey but I am blessed to call my baby.

Mondays are my reflection day. I sit an embrace this beautiful space that has come to light. I also find it my day to speak my gratitude/ appreciation for all that it has given me thus far, 3MTHs today!

*My partner excepts me with all flaws attached and helps me stay grounded when times get tricky. He reminds me to breath.

*my FU***NG AMAZING team- wow I couldn’t speak enough words to express how lucky I am to have each of them show up, support each other, trust in me, all while appreciating our space! I believe I ultimate have some of the best talent I know in the DMV! Truly blessed to have each of you with me on this journey!

***MY FAMILY- which should be first on this list! Honestly blessed to have every last one of them- including my MAGNOLIAS and yes you are family too! I wouldn’t be here without each of you. You believed in me, you let me keep dreaming, you made sure to keep me grounded, you dealt with my highs/ lows, you shaped me into who I am, and encouraged me to fight!

*MY Blagden INDUSTRY Community- thank you for the support, the uplifting encouragement, the bonds, and for sharing a mutual respect and love for our city! DC has been my home forever and I am proud to build another part of my life here!

*my former coach- I know I keep saying I’m coming back I promise I am- just trying to take in space and breath through a little of this magic! You deserve a shoutout too ; you pushed me forward when things seemed impossible; kept me on track, reminded me why I am doing and creating what I am and most importantly you challenged my inner core. She helped me understand it is ok to slow down and make time and space for ME. I am still trying to learn this part- is important, not missing out on my children growing up is key, and being there for myself is ok! Believing I can put myself first is a struggle but I will get there.

The phenomenal has put trust in for years now. They go back nearly 10yrs and still every haircut brings life, joy and happiness. Jess sits back closes her eyes and just puts all creative trust in Amy’s abilities while laughing and catching up about life’s adventures.

One of the many joys of our career is connection and communication with our clients. We are able to form bonds and relationships that are unique and personal- most importantly special!

Most of the time I am behind the chair now in my amazing space . My salon space is my comfort zone, my peace, my sanctuary and what I have been dying to create for the DC HAIR INDUSTRY for so many years.

Every once in awhile I come out from behind the chair and I create the hair dreams of a bride! This beauty here reached out to me through her close friend. She needed emergency hair help and I couldn’t stand to see a bride be let down. I fortunately have clients who know me and know if I am asking a favor it must be important. I moved around my Saturday and got to be apart of my dear Brittany’s special day. What’s even more fantastic is we enjoyed each other’s time and space so much that she is now stuck with me doing her hair forever! lol 😂

So happy we found each other Brittany and look forward to many more hair journeys with you.

Courage is a tricky thing. Telling your story can be even harder, especially when the audience is so large. As if those two things weren’t enough how about adding pushing forward with a new identity by eliminating a last name that carried with you longer than your maiden?

It was important for this amazing woman to reset a tone to declare herself HER, all while dealing with the struggle of loss, addiction, divorce, motherhood, and cancer. That was why the pen hit the paper. It was important to create her truth and her book: If We Break: A Memoir of Marriage, Addition, and Healing.

I call that one strong woman!
