I recently traveled to NYC for a family event. Those close to me know that I love that city. I have not visited for the past two years due to COVID. I was so excited! When I arrived in the city, I was so surprised and disappointed to see many of my little shops shuttered and closed. What!? Yes, Mz. COVID had an impact on small businesses in the Big Apple. It appears only big chain stores survived. How sad! I do not travel to NYC or any other city to shop big chain stores. I don't shop them in DC. Lol!

All was not lost! I was happy to see that two of my fav flea markets survived - vibrant, up and running. Yes! I visited the petite home studio of a good friend who sews samples for local designers. (Her studio is soooo cute. I am not allowed to take pics in the studio and run the risk of mistakenly revealing a new design). Now, you know I came away with a bag of scraps, buttons and findings. I wondered how I would get the bag home. Lol! I also ran into several street vendors selling Funky Junk. Oh, my! More Junk! I had to get this stuff home. I could not leave it. 💘

Hello my friends! I hope all is well. I look forward to the time we can come together for in-person events and activities. Ella and I are planning some local trips and activities - various destinations less than an hour away! In May 2021, we hosted a Vintage Boho Picnic in a restored barn at the beautiful Hope Farm in Waterford, VA. We will organize a bus trip for a day in the country.
