i am not ok.
i think every year i remember different things from that day 20 years ago. I’ve probably seen these video clips countless times, but today, with everything going on in the world, it struck different. every year most get emotional during this day, especially those who were old enough to have memories of it. this year (for me) almost felt too emotionally reminiscent as the day it happened.
this morning i remembered the updates. i remembered sitting in science class for what felt like an eternity, news on the TV. i remember watching my teachers face, as tears rolled down her eyes and fear washed over her. i remember my classmates sobbing, and begging administration to let us call our parents. i remember the updates as each plane hit each tower of the World Trade Center. i remember the sound of terror and shock as the update came that the next plane hit the pentagon. and i remember the instant heartbreak when flight 93 was discovered, but the pride that the hijackers of that plane did not succeed with their plan and were taken down by American HEROES and PATRIOTS.
i remember hugging my friends and sobbing in the gotha middle school portable area as looming clouds covered the sky.
BUT
i also remember the unity and patriotism. everyone and anyone wanted to help in anyway humanly possible. american flags waved everywhere. citizens from all over the country flocked to assist in recovery and searches at all locations where tragedy struck. that was the day i felt the pride of patriotism pump through my veins.
today, i will cry. but then i will take a deep breath and enjoy the, sadly, one day a year that we all stand in unison and remembrance of the true act of terror that glued a country together regardless of any and all beliefs.
WE WILL NEVER FORGET.

the my little fam and i are making the move to knoxville, tn! we are sad to leave our family and friends behind, but are SO excited for this new adventure for our little family. thank you for those who have supported and prayed along the way for the right job opportunity and timing to come!

it is a quick move so we will be planning an open hang out at the crooked can sometime next week as we leave saturday or sunday. we’ll keep everyone posted, and hope to see everyone before we leave!💕⛰

I just want to take the time and say THANK YOU. Truly, I wouldn’t be where i am in life without each and every one of you throughout this amazing journey I have been blessed with over the past almost 9 years of being a stylist.

At the risk of sounding incredibly cliche, you have all left a mark on my heart I will never forget. This time spent being the chair has taught me so many things about myself and who I need to be in this world... through good times and bad. It taught me how to talk to people, how to truly see people, and connect with you all on a deeper level than I ever thought I could. Some of you have become true friends, and even family to me and I love you so much for it! We have all gone through different walks in life and managed to create such incredible bonds through each fork in the road that we took.
