Massachusetts Women Of Color Coalition
We envision a Commonwealth of authentic inclusion where racism and sexism no longer dictates the outcomes of women of color and our communities.
Massachusetts Women of Color Coalition is dedicated to eradicating the racial inequities among women of color created by structural, institutional, interpersonal, and internalized racism. We will address racial inequities through authentic inclusion in the areas of politics, education, economic empowerment, criminal justice and health and wellness. Our success will maximize the benefits and contributions for all aggrieved communities of color and the Commonwealth as a whole.

Programs with purpose at Massachusetts Women Of Color Coalition
MAWOCC’s work comes to life through programs that support women and girls of color across leadership, education, economic power, health and wellness, and civic participation.
From the Intergenerational Leadership Academy to Power Path for small businesses, the 2026 Statewide Day of Holistic Healing & Wellness, and Boards and Commissions Training, each program is created with intention.
Together, these programs reflect MAWOCC’s commitment to building spaces where women and girls of color can learn, lead, heal, grow, and access resources in community.
This is programming rooted in purpose.
This is MAWOCC.
Come as you are at Massachusetts Women Of Color Coalition
MAWOCC is more than a coalition. It is a space where women of color can show up fully, connect with sisters across the Commonwealth, and feel supported in community.
That same spirit also extends to allies and supporters who are truly invested in the work and committed to helping create a more equitable society.
From community spaces to programs and trainings, MAWOCC’s work is intentionally created to center women of color, build connection, and move the mission forward.
This is the MAWOCC vibe.
This is MAWOCC.

Belonging is intentional at Massachusetts Women Of Color Coalition.
For Makda Teklemichael, MAWOCC is a space where women of color can come as they are — with different cultures, languages, backgrounds, experiences, and stories.
Through her work as Program Coordinator, Makda helps carry forward the care, collaboration, and behind-the-scenes coordination that make MAWOCC’s programs and community spaces possible.
Her perspective reflects one of MAWOCC’s core truths: when women of color feel welcomed, supported, and connected, there is room to grow, lead, and build together.
This is the care behind the work.
This is MAWOCC.
Every part of the work is connected at Massachusetts Women Of Color Coalition.
Real support for women and girls of color is holistic. MAWOCC’s programs are built with that understanding: leadership, wellness, economic power, advocacy, workforce development, and access to resources are all connected.
Because women and girls of color are not navigating just one part of life. They are leading, learning, caring, building, healing, and imagining what comes next.
This is what it means to build with intention.
That same spirit continues through MAWOCC’s 2026 Statewide Day of Holistic Healing & Wellness for Women of Color — a space to release, receive, restore, and reconnect in community.

Holistic support matters at Massachusetts Women Of Color Coalition
Women of color deserve support that recognizes the whole of their lives.
MAWOCC’s work is rooted in a holistic understanding of what women of color carry across home, work, family, community, leadership, health, and economic life.
That is why the work cannot sit in one lane. From economic power and small business support to health and wellness, civic leadership, advocacy, and access to resources, MAWOCC continues to create spaces that support women of color as they pursue their goals, care for their families, and build toward their futures.
Because women who carry so much also deserve to be supported.
This is the heart of MAWOCC’s work and the kind of work MAWOCC’s Summer Sizzle helps sustain.
