This is what building actually looks like.

**What I'm building:** - a platform for women over 40 to find confidence through wigs, authenticity, and real talk.

**What I'm living:** Real life as a working single mom managing 9 memory care facilities while raising a disabled daughter.

**This week both of those things are happening:**

**The building:**
✅ Posting daily reels (Day 15 of 30)
✅ Engaging with community
✅ Growing reach + followers
✅ Staying consistent

**The living:**
✅ 5am drive to Portland Tuesday
✅ 20 urgent RN assessments (compliance deadline)
✅ Training new Health Service Director Wed-Thu
✅ Back-to-back meetings all day Friday

**Most people think you need to CHOOSE:**

Build your dream OR live your life.
Focus on content OR focus on work.
Wait until calm OR give up.

**Here's what I'm learning:**

You don't choose.
You do BOTH.
At the same time.
Imperfectly.

**How?**

Strategic planning.

I batch filmed this weekend (2 hours by the water = 7 days of content).

So next week when I'm driving at 5am, doing assessments all day, and training new staff - I'll still post daily.

Not because I'll have time.
Because I MADE time this weekend.

**Building through chaos looks like:**

Not waiting for everything to calm down.
Not posting only when inspired.
Not requiring perfect conditions.

**Just:**
Working ahead when you CAN.
Using what you HAVE.
Refusing to stop. 💜

**This is Day 15 of 30.**

Halfway through my consistency challenge.

Still building.
Still living.
Still refusing to choose between them.

**Drop a 💜 if you're building something while juggling everything else. The chaos doesn't disqualify you. It just means you're REAL.**

I work in senior care. I manage 9 memory care communities. I spend my weeks thinking about accessibility, dignity, and what it means to make a space work for everyone.
Then I take a Sunday off and take my son to Disability Adventure Day at Point Defiance Zoo and remember why all of it matters.
1,500 families. ASL tours. Low sensory routes. Sound headsets. A chocolate chip starfish in a bowl and a tiger in the sun.
The wig is Jolin by JB Extensions — a lightweight bob for a long sunny day. Comfortable enough to forget you’re wearing it. Which is exactly the point. 👸🏽
Andrew had the best day. So did I. # Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium Wigs by Mood

This is Hilton. 🔥
Cinnamon spice. Long. Gorgeous. Copper highlights that catch the light like fire.
And she’s from LOX Wigs.
Let me tell you about LOX.
This company was started by people who helped build some of the biggest names in the wig industry. People who knew the business inside and out.
And they watched those big brands treat people—customers, creators, partners—terribly.
So they made a choice.
They walked away.
They could have stayed. They could have kept quiet. They could have played it safe.
But instead? They struck out on their own. Started LOX Wigs with a mission that actually means something:
“Supported. Confident. Seen.”
And when I found them, something clicked.
Because that’s MY mission too.
I’m not here to just sell wigs. I’m here to help women feel SEEN again. To build confidence. To create a community where we support each other instead of tearing each other down.
So when I found a company doing the exact same thing?
That’s where my money goes.
Not to the biggest brand. Not to the flashiest marketing. Not to the company that treats people like transactions.
To the ones who walked away from toxicity and built something better.
Because here’s what I’ve learned:
Every purchase is a vote.
Every dollar you spend is you saying “THIS is what I support. THIS is what I believe in. THIS is the world I want to help build.”
And I vote for:
∙ Companies with integrity
∙ People who do the hard thing
∙ Underdogs who chose their values over their comfort
∙ Brands that see me as a PERSON, not a profit margin
That’s LOX. That’s Hilton. That’s what I’m building here too.
So yeah—Hilton is beautiful. The cinnamon spice, the copper highlights, the length that makes me feel bold and feminine at the same time.
But more than that?
She’s a reminder that my choices matter.
Where I spend. Who I support. What I’m willing to tolerate.
And I choose the ones who chose themselves. The ones who walked away. The ones building something real.
